Jiyyd Rumors

A hin has been spotted tending the Sisterhood building's crops. He is followed by a dozen kids, most of which are the same size as him, and lectures them on proper agriculture buisness, mainly tending crops. He has also been harvesting the veggies, tilling the soil and working on a new plot of ground. He has been asking around for "strawberry seeds" as well, occasionally dropping in 'Supply & Demand' and talking to the merchant. When other hins walk past, he pulls his hood up to hide his face and works harder.

Word slowly seeps out about a violent and magically charged thunderstorm around Jiyyd, the likes of which have not been seen for quite some time. Undead warriors are mentioned in relation to this, and the name "Arvangel".
//none of the actual participants of the event seem to have posted anything about it, so here's a little something based on information picked up ig

Rhistin's seen in Jiyyd inquiring who the owner is of Eduardo. Apparantly with the intention to use the mighty oxen to move something heavy.
-
Rumors also spread of Elridith associating with the Dark Goddess, appearing in shadows and then looking for the 'hearts' of her friends. And before she disappeared by using invisibility in the middle of Jiyyd, she also mentioned sacrifice and how humans couldn't truly understand how important those are. Whether it is related to the dark enchantress, who might be intending to claim another important mage from the Spellweaver Keep or not, remains a mystery shrouded in dark shadows. Since little else is known or said about the matter.

*The people of the farming community of Jiyyd are still chattering about the wonderful time had at Jiyyd' first ever Harvest Market.
Great numbers of people turned out, from far and wide, to sample the tasty produce, baked wares and the charming rural atmosphere of this little village.
Crafters from as far as as the Gypsy Camp sold their metal wares. Local produce, green beans, peppers, and huge watermelons were carted out of town in large baskets. A local merchant offering sharpening tools and other farming implementia reportedly did well.
Ginger and a very special guest chef represented the lovely Silver Valley with a magnificent barb-B-Q pit selling sour cabbage and sausages, and Grag's famous "chicken" dish.
Several of the legion's finest were seen helping out…notably General Grag, who repeatedly volunteered to be the target of a game of skill which involved targeting a bullseye which careened the General wildly into a lake when struck. This game seemed very popular with most everyone, and the General, the ladies of the Jiyyd Knitting Circle report, has never smelled cleaner.
A pig catching contest, and pie eating competition rounded out the day. Prizes...including a magic ring, were rewarded.
A merchant and his odd looking assistan,t reputedly from far off Damara, rode into Jiyyd to the oohs and awws of the children of the village, on a fancy wagon bearing tall letters of his many exploits. Many exotic looking potions were sold, with some watchers reporting a most entertaining performance, whilst some mumbles of "snake oil salesman" and "charlatan" were reported from people actually hailing from Damara.
A Blue robed Peltarchian, named Zyphlin, won the most contests, and was proclaimed the first ever Jiyyd Harvest Champion. He was presented with the beautiful green and brown enchanted Harvest Cloak, created lovingly by our local tailors, which he will have the honor to wear until the next Champion is proclaimed, at the next Market.
Reports of sitings of the scary, powerful and evil Dark Enchantress towards the end of the Market were confirmed by some eastern dwelling sharp eyed farmers, who watched from behind rocks and barns.
The Harvest Market seemed to end on a dark note, as reports of arguing and some sort of encounter in the eastern farmlands ensued.
Apparently no battle with the vile Enchantress to our east occured, as no mangled bodies were reported from Lady Vroka at the "Wonders".
The Jiyyd Harvest Market seems to have been a sprawling, busy success, with unexpected happenings and lots of excitement.
Rumor spreads that the considerable proceeds from the affair will be doled out amongst the less wealthy farming families of Jiyyd, in hopes of bettering production of crops to sell, improving the lot of all in the region.*
-
For the last several weeks adventurers who go out into the Central Plains see the bodies of human scavangers dismantled in the most grusome ways possible…
-
*Considerable hustle bustle around Jiyyd of late, as farmers are seen carting about wagon loads of apples, corn, wheat and pumpkins.
Seems the agriculturally minded are all looking forward to displaying their wares at the upcoming Jiyyd Harvest Market, to the point that some arguments break out about just who has the largest cucumbers.
A few brightly colored tents pop up near the lake, and some workmen are building a sort of open oven or cooking pit. A brand new, large green and brown flag on a brand new flagpole is raised above the lake, a green field with brown trim with a central silhouetted brown cow grazing.
All in all, it looks as if the hard working populace are eager for the upcoming Harvest Market, and the word on the street is that some manner of famed traveling merchant will make an appearance in the little town.
The little kids watch all the goings in with great anitcipation for what to them, is a grand event for this sleepy little community.*

A large figure in blue and black armor has been seen roaming the battlegrounds near Jiyyd, seemingly looking for something. After a few hours of searching he raises his head, runs down a stream and ducks into a copse of trees.
Some loud shouting is heard, although not angry shouting, more like he's trying to get someone's attention.
"I wants to speaks to someone, I wants to trade wiv yoos. I comes in peace"
After a while once it is clear there is no immediate response forthcoming, he emerges with a solid set to his shoulders.
As he wanders back towards Jiyyd, he can be heard talking to himself.
"Mebbe they will reads my note and sends someone to see me? Hopes so."

*Appearing sick and walking stiffly with a distinct limp, her armor badly gashed in many places, General Lyte is spotted speaking briefly to all the Jiyyd watchmen and women, after her return from the east with a small, tired, banged up party consisting of Juster, Theaon, and a young stranger.
Warnings to immediately report any signs of "shadow like" things are heard, along with the word "Darkthorn."*

Rumors of dragons, the color pink, and a successful hunting trip blend together near the fire, all of which seem to be true, but when the story turns to pink dragons, many people are seen scratching their heads.
A pink dragon took a pink fellow to the top of a mountain?
Surely stranger things have happened… right?
-
Word around the fire is that a group got their butts kicked by a shard of a thorn and a bunch of shadows. It seems unlikely that giant thorn bushes had anything to do with the matter, but then there's talk of a half orc that only lived through a brush with a deer because of passing adventurer's… so who knows.

Maya is seen in front of the sisterhood, dressed in full battle garb. Her armor is polished, leathers cleaned, and hair washed to a shine. With her are the children of the Sisterhood
She doesn’t bow her head in prayer, but instead stares up into the sky, arms spread wide in supplication to Tempus…
…and sings.
Maya is no bard. Her voice is somewhat off key at times, and mistakes are occasionally made. But her voice rings strong across the long road, into Jiyyd, and on this cool crisp morning might make it to the valley.
The song, in Uthgardt, is the only one she knows of its kind. A ballad of two people in a village, who die to protect their only child, and who one days grows up to lead his people, and honor the sacrifice his parents made.
The ballad is long. Some of the children join in when they remember. A few, like Yana, remember the verses Maya taught and join her in chorus. Towards the end, as the refrain is repeated, more and more of the voices join.
Finally, when the ballad is over, each of the children lay one flower, one for each life he saved, onto the spot where Chet died. Each returns quietly into the Sisterhood.
Maya stares at the spot for a moment, her face contorted with mix of pride and loss, before she too goes inside.

Corporal Jerrick has been seen about town doing a random sweep looking for tracks, and checking on the various guards at their posts, seeming slightly paranoid about something perhaps.

On lookers see Theaon Thorn of the Troff Legion and Jiyyd Watch along with a new comer to the region drag a beaten half-orc towards the town jail. Theaon was heard muttering about how this half-orc lead orc attacks on Jiyyd in the past and that he needs to be punished for his crimes. Afterwards Theaon was seen speaking to Just'ene about a possible trial, those nearby may have heard the name "Ugluk" muttered.

A hin wearing a red cloak when by passing the long road is seen to take a short quiet moment to bow his head in front of the sisterhood.
-
rumors spread through Jiyyd of flowers being left at the of the Sisterhood - one of the guards comments
"yeah, a red haired lass leaves them for some guy, the flowers are forget-me-nots"
-
Martoushca, a hin gardener from the city of Peltarch, has been trying to spread word that she is planing a forest walk Endweek morning (7:00pm ish Australian time) to tend to the saplings south of Norwick. She is hoping to round up a party of brave souls to keep her company - and to help carry sacks of mulch.
Word is she plans to meet at the campfire in Jyyd and leave just before the sun comes up.

_It seems that not only women have an effect on men, as one day, aging mage Attentus makes his way into town, accompanied by three young women. They cluster about the charismatic sorceror and the small group sets off for a quiet stroll into the muddy bog that Jiyyd calls a swamp. When they return in smaller groups, they bear ill news, though. Claiming that they were there to look for trolls, or at least kill the food supply of the trolls, they mention they found orcs hidden away in a cave in the swamp. As prove of this they bear barbed axes and awful looking leather armors that still stink of their previous owners.
One of the young women can be heard to comment:_
"Oh, Attentus was like so great! You see, there was this place in the cave where the orcs were like holding some dark ritual. Like praying to their evil gods or stuff and they had like piles of human skulls! That's sooo bad! Anyway, there were like really lots there, but Attentus just waved his hands and then they like all burned and screamed and it was like they were in the hell already where they should be like proper!"

Villagers outside the eastern walls of Jiyyd reported recent sitings of frost goblin scouts venturing close to town, and the farmers witnessed a group of mixed adventurers routing these goblins back towards old Ormpur's ruins.
Thereafter, apparently reinforced with some legion folk, the adventurers which included Norwickians and Silver Valley citizens, pushed forward, driving said frosty goblins back into the mountains whence they came.
On an unrelated note, townspeople about Jiyyd noted the charismatic woman General and councilperson of Jiyyd, Lyte, walking out of town westward in a very fancy, and revealing blue gown.
Those manfolk of the village who stared at her exit dropped their various
ale mugs and smoke-pipes at the rare sighting, only to be bludgeoned about their heads by their various wives and girlfriends with pots and butter churns to return their attentions where they ought to be.No serious injuries were reported.
