Jiyyd Rumors

_Jeremy laughs at Senria's comment.
"Oi lass, I don't be knowin' 'bout e'eryone else, but swingin mundane swords at a witch who can magically deflect 'em every bloody time dosen't seem all that useful to me. Maybe if ye threw rocks at her it woulda been damn more useful."_
-
snickers and shakes her head a bit she can be heard saying something along the lines of "Figures he would take all the credit…...guess it didn't matter that I was there to help kill her or that it was my idea to head out to check the sisterhood in the first place...."
-
Rumors stir as to what measures to increase security around town might be with the recent death of this Drow witch. More notable by Lily. "Don't know 'ow much 'as changed in years past… buh the last time we took'un down... we ended up stirin' a 'ornets nest of em. They tend ta look for any reason ta attack these days... certainly this'll peek their curiosity no?" Lily looks to find out from Smasha and the others as to what can be done by the towns folk to help in what's sure to be a retaliation of terms.

_It seems that the female Drow wizard has finally been defeated.
After an epic battle with some adventurers outside of Jiyyd, most notably the Cerulean Knights, Captain Seth & Jeremy Steel, and Elyl, a cleric of Torm, she was finally held by Elyl's priestly power, dispelled by Seth's arcane ability and last but not least, given a new hole to breathe out of by Jeremy's enchanted sword.
Cleaning his sword of the Drow's blood, Jeremy and the other adventurers headed into Jiyyd with the body, which ended up being on the ground near the campfire with Jeremy's feet on it.
As the sun rose, Jeremy, Seth, Elyl & Xilo headed north to Peltarch, the body over Jeremy's shoulder._

Rumors spread of a female Drow that many refer to as a witch cackiling in the NArs pass about incompitent Male Surfacer mages. It seems yet another attack was attempted on the sisterhood.
Before dawn more loud noises of squeeling like a girl were heard about spider webs on them Many mention The General himself as the one doing the squeeling

Piles of wood and now ore are seen being stacked about town. It appears that a number of legion soldiers and officers are working as daylight allows to stockpile as much as can be mustered from the surrounding lands. Milshot is seen now and again speaking with some of the town watchmen who themselves are seen, as duty to the town allows, sorting thru the piles and tallying the supplies. Milshot asks that any who are willing and able to join the growing force and happily supplies any who need with food, drink, and a smile as they lend their efforts.
-
Private Milshot is seen moving in and out of the west gate pulling a small hand cart along behind him. With each return trip back into town, the small cart is loaded with dead wood. He heads towards the legion hall and heads out again. He is seen doing nothing but this as daylight allows and taking brief rests now and again to restore his strength with a short meal at the inn.

((which tall blonde barbarian axe wielding smiler? I assume Maya, but she and Ragnhild are damned near twins))
-
_A stout dwarven lass trundles into town and removes a suit of half-plate in sundry shades of pink and lavender. She adjusts the somewhat ephemeral - and somewhat damp - white dressing gown she wore underneath, it's low-cut decolletage made nearly scandalous by the overly large proprotions of her chest. She pulls a package from her pack and heads up to the top of the archer tower by the west gate, her quarry known to sit within it's shadow's upon occasion.
When the tall blonde barbarian woman with the big waraxe and bigger smile (Maya) next sits on the ground below, she can expect a shower of fresh wildflower petals, and an attentive ear might hear the soft chant of dwarven prayers coming from above._
Edit: To address questions as to the identity of her target.

_Everyone's favourite loud-mouth Grak seems to have managed to get himself in trouble yet again. After spouting his usual verbal abuse at the people around the fire, the half-orc waved his spiked club at a female hin, whereupon Legionaire Lilly intervened, decking the lout with a well-aimed right to his jaw.
Grak then screamed for the guards, his own crewmates less than willing to come to his aid. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on inclination, Watchwoman Basha was unusually leniant, appearing to have a soft spot for the "handsome" half-orc. Instead of being jailed, the troublemaker was fined and escorted to the Legion Hall, to spend some quality time in the cells there.
Other members of the Black Sails are reported to have been quite drunk, though not disorderly in town later on._

*logs, wagons of stone, dried wolf meat, logs, deer steaks, and yet more logs can be seen being rolled, drug and hauled through Jiyyd, from east and west, by hard working legion soldiers in black and blue.
This has been going on for weeks and weeks, and it seems to some that those legion folk must have wood enough to build a whole new town.
The wagons are seen to stop in front of the big stone legion hall, where they are unloaded into neat piles under the supervision of officers barking orders, and they head back out the gates, noisily raising clouds of dust.
Most people assume it's some manner of orc defensive measures being planned….but a few alert citizens wonder aloud if there might be a pyramid going to be built to house the eventual corpse of the massive Legion Major General, when he someday leaves this mortal coil.*

After playing, “see who can throw the rock farthest” with Wolf and others, Maya was said to stare up into the sky, watching something others couldn’t see. She left the town out the west gate, followed by several members of the Divine Shield.
What happened after that is sketchy. They say the group of them stopped at the crossroads. Some say she kept screaming Tempus’ name. Others say she hit Sylvain in the face with her fist. Many say she disappeared in a shaft of light, only to reappear in Jiyyd later, fatigued and blood soaked, her hair filled with black feathers.
Regardless, many of the older farmers that report seeing her after the rumored incident say that she appears to look more like the Maya of so long ago, when she lived in Jiyyd.

Keira and some others, including Maya, Raver and Aelthas might have been noticed discussing ways to improve security and defence at the southgate shortly after the attack.
-
_An orc. goblin, and bugbear raid occured in Jiyyd shortly after the giants. The attackers went for the shops, taking supplies they needed. Jiyyd was defended by a host of adventurers and heroes. Though the orcs where not the only ones to suffer losses. Two defenders fell during the raid: Seth and Slyvain. Each fought bravely, though the might of the orcs was surprisingly strong for just a mear raid. No one was left uninjured.
After the battle, the paladin Slyvain was seen being lectured, even after just being killed. He went into the inn with some of the Divine Shield, then came out later badly bruised and in poor spirits. Though, later on he cheered up and started to make jokes about lightning burning his cookies…_

_Icy winds brought a warning…. and an attack at the East Road gates by Ice Giants come down from the mountains.
Repelled by two dozen townspeople, no one seemed surprised that it was the two Commanders of the Gypsy Forces that led the charge to defend the town._

Over the past couple weeks, the young lady Sabriel can be seen wondering alone into the Festering Swamps quite often. She looks as if she is expecting the worst, going in dressed with full plate. No one seems to know why she makes such often visits there, but she always returns to town hours later covered in cuts and scratches.

While bussle all about was over the attack of a cockatrice Jerr and Lyte chatted about the Featherflight tribe and watched the proceedings. Jerr did mention something about making a challenge of some sort Lyte replied with reassurances that the town of Jiyyd would provide refuge for the tribe if they were in danger of being over-run by orcs.
Later Keira was seen to be giving lessons to a paladin who was sketching Lilly and Seth. Jerr also joined in, mainly agreeing with the slim woman on her recommendations. "Art is drawing all of it, not just what you think you see."
Keira hauled out her own sketch book and Jerr and Sylvain looked through it until the Paladin blanched and ended the lesson abruptly.
Later Jerr went off for a while and returned looking very determined. He walked straight in and to Keira whereupon he kissed her. Some onlookers were surprised that she did not seem to mind a bit.
He ended the evening with a tale that made some laugh and others think. But then, as Jerr himself says, sometimes that is what is needed.

The drow witch was at it again last night…...this time petrifying Seth and Sylvain. Just before dawn, Grag arrived and stood watch with Jeremy whilst Senria ran to the Keep to acquire the help of Bingo to reverse the effects. The drow used hit and run tactics, evidentally toying with the unsuspecting travellers. It has been made known that it is no longer safe to walk the roads out side of jiyyd alone at night.
-
//just so no one gets confused. She is only known as Lilly, she is not called Laerlilly by anyone.
-
It is rumored, and confirmed by some, that Sylvain, the talkative paladin, stops by regularly at the Sisterhood, and plays with the children all day, when he has the time.
As he plays with the children, he shows an unusual amount of care, making sure nothing bad happens to them, and also watching his loud mouth carefully.
He is also rumored to have acquired an unusually large amount of cookies, and is often found walking around Jiyyd chewing on the tasty treats with a satisfied smile. Laerlilly, or "Lilly" to most, seems to have acquired the nickname "Mom" from him.
