Jiyyd Rumors
-
_Black Sails members Devlin and Sabre were recently seen limping into town looking badly burnt and soaking wet all at once. Word has it a fire-loving gnomish mage assaulted the duo in the pass and then chased them with his firey magic all the way to Jiyyd, and out into the lake in orcish territory.
In other news, orcs are once more assaulting Jiyyd, and by most accounts the treaty is a thing of the past. Orc mages and warriors snuck into town cloaked in invisibility, then attacked in greater numbers when the sneak tactics failed to do sufficient damage to the town and it's defenders. A massive battle is reported to have taken place later on the plains, with a good few Jiyydians amongst the fallen. About a week later, yet another orc mage snuck inside the gates to attack not the townsfolk, but rather the defenseless Jiyyd cookpot. One can only speculate about the reasons why…_

A spirited orcish attack thrown from the orc fortress occured recently on the road just outside of Jiyyd.
Apparently instigated by a handful of smaller orcs out marauding the road, the ordeal escalated into a full scale battle.
Many adventurers cut their way through the scores of orcs on the long road to reach Jiyyd, the group gathering with the original defenders in the town, to protect the walls against formidable odds.
Eventually two huge orc champions strode forth, claiming the long road and the Sister's place as their new fortress.
The adventurers told the orc to flee back to his land or die, with the druid Malika translating, and the orc singled out a defending warrior to single combat.
The elven woman put down the orc, and taking advantage of the turn in initiative, the group hastened out to attack the leaderless, but large army outside.
A heated engagement took place, with the heroes from Jiyyd, composed of a brave saurus paladin, druids from the circle, a sneaky hin scout, members of the Sisters and and many many other unnamed but selfless individuals, slowly beat the lines of orcish troops back into their lands.
Once pushed back, there was some discussion of further exploiting the orc's losses by pushing to the fortress, though many of the more seasoned veterans thought this unwise, when huge catapult boulders came hurling from the plains, sending the little force scattering back to Jiyyd, victorious, but bruised.
It was a classic battle, with people of various races and creeds, working together side by side, against superior numbers, to save this rural town once more.

Recently, rumors have been circulating as to a number of members of the town being suddenly, and for no reason, changed into various sorts of animals. Luckily all were changed back with the only side effecting being nausea. However, an even stranger report of Lucid's vomit springing to life seem to have people slightly concerned, and rather grossed out….

A number of times in the last couple of weeks a dirty and unkempt Elf has been seen to place a box on the front steps of the orphanage near Jiyyd. Those at the orphanage claim that each time the box has been filled with suprisingly tasty meat pies, presumably intended as a dontaion for the children there.

Mysterious gnomes are rumoured to have attacked Legion members and various travelling adventurers just outside Jiyyd. A subsequent chase led out into the Nars pass, ending hours later with the return of the Legionaires carrying the body of the half-orc Kull into Vrokas.

A small incident ocurred in the Regal Whore. The druid, Wolf struck down Grak, after the half-orc made a nasty insult. Wolf was taken to jail without resistance and resides there for the next week (1 day RL).

_Rumors are heard throughout town about the Dark Enchantress walking into town and dropping the head of Koreth on the road, a smug look on her face, before disappearing in a portal with the head.
People also seem to be talking about the young Watchman Aelthas talking to the Dark Enchantress, apparently telling her that she may need to come face charges of murder while the other guards seemed smart enough to simply get away and find Grag.
Although he didnt look drunk, Aelthas did smell of wine a bit and it leads some to believe he had to be very drunk to even tell the Dark Enchantress she has to come in for questioning._

Word has quickly spread that the beloved cookpot near the west gate is gone! Rumor has it that an angry dwarf and his axe are to blame, and that the offending dwarf was later smitten by lightning, no doubt the work of vengeful gods.
Upon seeing the sad, empty spot where the cookpot once bubbled out its mysterious odors, the great ranger, Aghila of the Peltarch Far Scouts, the wise arch-mage Keeper of Spellweaver, Genzir Malark, his student Tobias, and a hin wearing a robe, resolved to correct the situation, and headed off to Ormpur to seek a new cookpot. Braving ferocious wolves, the intrepid Fellows of the Cookpot trekked to Ormpur, and returned, frigid and gravely wounded, and still without a cookpot.
Un-deterred, they set out again, this time braving a terrible storm and a massive flood that threatened to wash away the entire town, and made their way out the west gate and down the road to Peltarch. Upon reaching the great city, Genzir immediately went to the market and traded a sizeable pouch of precious gold coins for a shiny new copper cauldron, big enough to feed dozens of hungry travelers!
But, no sooner did Genzir drag the cookpot out of the city then he detected, of all things, a wild magic surge! Risking dire consequences, he cast a spell to turn himself into a troll, the faster to carry back the precious copper cauldron. Lucky for him (and the town) the spell worked normally. Aghila, however, who tried some magic of his own, was not so lucky and flung himself dozens of yards into the air, luckily landing on his feet, unharmed.
Genzir walked into town the next day, the elf Laucius by his side, and set the new cookpot in its rightful place, suspended from a sturdy tripod. As the aroma of roasting wolf and bear meat wafted from the fire, and hungry heroes and hunters gathered round, Genzir stood and addressed the eager crowd.
Anyone who messes with the new cookpot, or in the case of a wild surge, anybody unlucky enough to be standing near anyone who messes with the cookpot, is in for a world of fiery pain. With the wild surges rampant again, I expect this cookpot will see a lot of use in the coming months. It just won't do to have it ruined or missing. Oh, and please wash it out after you're done using it.

Rumours speak of meteors flying in Jiyyd and people getting randomly struck down and confused by powerful magics.
-
Rumors suggest that the very interesting contest about the heavyweight contest in Jiyyd's Regal Whore's basement, was not a contest of skills, but rather a contest of equipment.

Rumors have it that Draihken Harbringer, Jiyyd Militia Member and newest Guardian of the Temple of the Vigilant and the stoic, fierce looking barbarian Raver Styx are getting married.
When questioned, Raver actually blushed and smiled, rare indeed are those…..

The bodies of four adventurers - two dwarves of well-known clans, a purple-haired elf, and a human(?) - were pulled from the swamp mists after a battered and bloodied newlywed druid emerged from there screaming for assistance. The corpses were delivered to Vroka and Finnius by a stoic Raryldor and battleweary Droigo. Shortly afterwards, Krig Skullboil - in his dazzling and blinding armor - entered the swamp with Call Sanner and a conspicuously large elven archer to retrieve the belongings of the slain heroes, visiting destruction upon everything in the swamp that stood in their way, despite the unfortunate influence of wild magic.
Raryldor and Krig were able to call the spirits of the deceased to return to their material hosts.
((sorry if this isn't 100% accurate, just piecing things together))

Rumour speaks of a group of Tormish who came to Jiyyd seeking those of true heart to help in a holy quest, many goodly people came to their call and the large group was last seen headed north. It was said that Sir Mariston Thel led the group to the lands far to the north.
-
Word spreads of a trio of folk that came running out of the Jiyyd swamp while being followed by a very large and angry troll. Luckily Regrin was nearby and aided in the fight that then ensued. After a few minutes of fighting, they were able to take down the foul smelling beast. Afterwards, the darkly clad bunch burned the troll. A female member of the group in black and blue mail was heard saying, "First a crazy elf tries to burn us to death, and now a troll just tried to slash my face off…...So what else is going to happen today!?"

The Bell tower from the temple of Helm rings loudly throughout the afternoon, as Draihken Harbringer completes his squiring with Shane Andryl and is knighted to serve as a watcher in Helms service.

Rumors about packs of winter wolves wandering the road to Ormpur are repeated more and more often by wanderers. These packs often even sport a larger wolf that is said to be blessed by the evil goddess of winter. Any and all who approach the blessed wolf feel her cold touch. Some more hearty fellows point out that suitable protection against that particular deity's favorite wrath can be purchased in a small store for exquiste clothing in Peltarch.
