Jiyyd Rumors
-
Rumour speaks of a group of Tormish who came to Jiyyd seeking those of true heart to help in a holy quest, many goodly people came to their call and the large group was last seen headed north. It was said that Sir Mariston Thel led the group to the lands far to the north.

Word spreads of a trio of folk that came running out of the Jiyyd swamp while being followed by a very large and angry troll. Luckily Regrin was nearby and aided in the fight that then ensued. After a few minutes of fighting, they were able to take down the foul smelling beast. Afterwards, the darkly clad bunch burned the troll. A female member of the group in black and blue mail was heard saying, "First a crazy elf tries to burn us to death, and now a troll just tried to slash my face off…...So what else is going to happen today!?"

The Bell tower from the temple of Helm rings loudly throughout the afternoon, as Draihken Harbringer completes his squiring with Shane Andryl and is knighted to serve as a watcher in Helms service.

Rumors about packs of winter wolves wandering the road to Ormpur are repeated more and more often by wanderers. These packs often even sport a larger wolf that is said to be blessed by the evil goddess of winter. Any and all who approach the blessed wolf feel her cold touch. Some more hearty fellows point out that suitable protection against that particular deity's favorite wrath can be purchased in a small store for exquiste clothing in Peltarch.

A challenge to the death was issued with the sails over a verbal slight, and was eventually met by the six present Sails. Raryldor struck first blood….and second, and third, and fourth, but spared the lives of the fallen and badly wounded sailors. He was eventually ground to the grass by Drelan and an errant archer, his life spared perhaps by the sails, perhaps by the intervention of onlookers.

_Rumours buzz around town about orcs sneaking into town and slaughtering a family in a house near the mill, as well as abducting the children of said family. A group of Black Sails, Legion members and an assorted bunch of do-gooders ventured east to search for the children. The rescue team returned with one of the missing youngsters, but word has it there is at least one other still unaccounted for. The boy and his surviving aunt are said to be recoperating at the temple.
On a sidenote, the elven priest Raryldor challenged a number of Black Sails to a fight just outside Jiyyd, but was ultimately defeated by the black and gold-clad crew. Both parties seemed able to put their differences aside to aid in the kidnapping drama though._

Word spreads around Jiyyd that, Kara, Sergeant of the watch is looking to hire some woodfolk skilled in tracking for a possibly dangerous assignment. Everyone interested is to contact her immediately.
-
_A few hours later, several defenders can be seen near the west gate. They are speaking about options of constructing better defenses to keep the town safer. Shane is seen amongst them, as well as several others. All by all, the tone of the conversation is grim.
It is said that the conversation resulted from a small band of Orcs that came to insult the town's defenders, and had what appeared to be a feast afterwards alongside the road just west of Jiyyd, until they were dispersed.
A while later the band is seen heading for Ormpur._
-
An orc approached the gates of Jiyyd. It claimed that some members of the Legion had stolen from them. He also expressed a challenge between the respective leaders. The only thing confirming the orc's claims were a mysterious trail of blood, leading through the gates deep into Jiyyd. Some might still remember the last time the orcs attacked Jiyyd, sending wave after wave into town.

_Rumors spread from travellers, that again, Orcs have been sighted passing through the woods near the farmlands, and the hills around Ormpur. Word goes around swiftly, that Trent Blake has asked several parties to meet with him and discuss plans.
Regrin seems in a foul mood these days. He has taken to hiring extra help, all of them spending their days chopping and cutting wood into sizeable boards, loading them onto wagons. Rumor has it that the wood is for Ormpur, and they all seem to be working overly hard to get it done as fast as possible.
As well, some farmers complain about cattle going missing. One of them finds Just'ene about the issue, upon which a hefty one-sided argument ensues. Most whisper that surely the militia will get the brunt of it._
-
_A woman was found in Jiyyd, lying in a strange unresponsive state near the west wall. She was carried by two men in the black and gold first to the Healing wonders, later out and laid on a bench. Then a member of the sisterhood appeared and summoned a huge earth elemental to carry the woman including the bench to their farm.
Rumor has it she's a princess from a nearby kingdom, her father having sent her away as she fell more and more under the influence of a mean magic spell. Alternative rumors suggest she's just a Peltarchian knight, curst by a Mystran cleric._

A gnome appeared in Jiyyd, dressed mainly in white. It offered a substance to make you stronger for very long. It seems a member of the Sails bought the entire supply off the man. ((If the DM in question could make themselves known, Pavel is interested in some more interaction.))
In an unrelated rumor it is said a titanic spider descended on Jiyyd and broke houses open like ripe fruits, leaving a trail of destruction behind it.
-
Raryldor is quieter these days, but something has infused him with some new purpose. His step is lighter, and surer; his head, held higher and more resolute. Something will happen for certain.
-
Word drifts in from Ormpur of a battle in the hills outside the city between a small band of adventurers and a rather larger band of the living dead, followed by a confrontation between the adventurers and a mage right at the gates of Ormpur itself.

A half elf female of mixed calimsham decent named Salara was found dead outside Jiydd. Her only notable possessions were an enchanted sling and a note.
((if any PC found her and wants to read the note PM))
Edit: ((Would also like to add that no offense was intended during my story arc. I know its a tough scenario and it honestly could have gone either way with RP. I simply followed the IC pattern of my character. Again sorry if it caused any offense.))

The familiar young elf knows as El can be seen by the campfire and about the small town, she was gone for the better part of a year, but few rumors float around about where or what she was doing…

_During this days you can see a pile of hotgoblin skulls over a rock near the entrance of Jiyyd. Gotrek, keeps carring more heads over and over, even impaling some. On occasions you can hear Gotrek claim vengeance:
Ye bastards, gona regret what ye did!! Nae ef ya kill ma friend and lif's ta see a new day!! I nae gona stop, until I kill ye all, or Tha assassin' ef ma fri'nd com's out ta fight!!_

General Grag can be seen smiling at the renovations taking place. Maythor and Grag were soon seen taking a large shipment of Legion ales straight from troff mountain to the laborers*

Piles of stone start to appear at varous points along the outside of the Jiyyd walls. Eventually, a dozen or so dwarves are seen with overloaded carts full of masonry stone arriving and increasing the size of these piles. This goes on for a day or so until the piles themselves are higher than the walls in some spots.
The dwarves, having delivered their materials, move through town to the east. On the Dolvak farm they set up a few tents and kegs and take a day of rest–their rock-hauling was a laborious task.
Once they have rested and drank (more of the latter) they split into several different teams, each returning to one of the rock piles. They first start picking at the walls themselves, removing loose stones almost like "a skinny might be prunin' a tree." They spend most of their time removing the top of the wall itself, presumedly so that its height can be increased.
A few dwarves on each team start to make a great mix of sludge in the empty kegs from the previous nights. No one saw exactly what went into this mortar-like mixture, but the smells of swamp mud, clay, limestone, grass, old cheese, dung, and ale are pervasive in the area.

A group of four, mostly black clad adventurers entered the swamp, apparently intent on retrieving something. They emerge a good time later, looking a bit confused but generally in a good mood. Those who listen more than necessary hear a tale of someone singing in the swamp. Whatever would make a singer move into such a desolate and hostile environment as the Jiyyd swamp seems beyond comprehension.
