Jiyyd Rumors
-
That afternoon, Penny can be seen passing through Jiyyd looking for Dwin, muttering something about a "farkin' gate key".
-
_A mule-drawn wagon makes its way through Jiyyd in the late evening hours. Though cloaked, the 4 escorts are wearing the unmistakable armor and colors of the Norwick Militia.
The wagon passes directly through town to the east, where a passerby says that it went as far as Dwin's farm.
Six hours later, the wagon, now piled high with crates (much to the mule's discomfort) makes its way back through town. Unlike the initial trip, the escorts now have their hands on their hilts and are scanning the area for any signs of danger. They quickly pass through town to the west and are swallowed by the snowy fog.
Several hours later Dwin walks through town with a look of exhaustion and heads straight to the Union hall.
Later that morning, some travellers from the east mention that Dwin's farm looks as if it has been closed up; windows and doors are boarded and the gate has been locked._

_A hue and cry is raised in the middle of the night as an adventurer in the swamps returns with a tale of dark dwarves seen moving through the fetid mist.
A band of warriors, clerics, scouts, and a mage is gathered, and head into the mire warily.
For some hours nothing is heard, and then the grim-faced band return, bearing the body of their hin scout with them. Their armor and clothes are blackened and scorched as if by smoke and lightning, and a distinct reek of burned troll still attaches to them.
They proceed to Vroka's and vanish within. Later, the gaunt, fell visage of the knight Kim can be seen speaking to Just'ene. Those close enough to overhear say she spoke of a battle with a dark cleric of the Duergar, and something about 'many trolls'._

Helmite soldiers are seen all through the day and night scouring out the town and the Valley. Rumor has it that they are looking for any trail of a sighted Drow within the town's proper.
-
The astute might notice that Keira has been talking to Braeth, Lady Shane and any others regarding Drow-related issues since they appeared on the road threatening harm. The old tale of how Lady Rith sacrificed herself to the drow to save others and the subsequent heroic rescue still has relevance to the orb and weave situation of today.
She's interested in contacting any who speak Drow or have experience of dealing with them maybe with a view to translating messages or questioning captives.
-
Rummors spread of the one many might consider the town loon has not been seen or heard from in quite some time, not since the last festival in Norwick with magic duals came to a halt due to sever wild magic.
-
The latest buzz around the Silver Valley is about the upcoming festival. Rumour has it that Juster, Gonnar and Ginger have planned a scavenger hunt and archery contest for the event. Everyone is welcome to participate.

_Aelthas was seen entering town from the east, a body in his arms, covered by a cloak. He headed straight to the sisterhood house and was seen digging a grave.
After some prayers for the dead person, he was seen in town again, his face a mixture of sadness and anger. For the next few days, he is more quiet than usual, simply nodding to people and offering very few words._
-
The next morning, Kara is seen to be entering the town and taking her post on the tower for the morning guard shift. Passers by will note that she has collected quite a number of claw marks along her arms, although the worst appear to have been healed. Rumours talk of a Lioness yesterday and that the militia are keeping an eye on the situation closely.

-
Over the past week, Jiyyd was visited by a party of drow, who came to deliver a threat to somebody who had killed one of their number never to return to their gates unless he wished to die, and by a formidable-looking undead knight from Mintas, who warned that anyone trespassing in the ruined city would die. Anybody who planned to visit the drow city or Mintas Rhelgor to shop at the market and admire the architecture should take note.

_Rumor spreads that Jiyyd is the second largest rumormill in the lands of Narfell, surpassed only by the great city of Peltarch. It is commonly agreed however, that considering the difference in population between the mighty Jewel of the Icelace, and the humble Commonwealth, Jiyyd is currently the center of Narfell's latest news. It is a title well agreed upon by the commoners, who have always prided their concerns for the world around them.
A new rumor quickly spreads thereafter that Maria Otarch has ordered a new dress in Peltarch, and that this would surely be a cause of disagreement between herself and Anadra Dy'nesencia , proprietor of the Wayfarer's Garb. It is said that Saline, the servant who tends at Lens's home, would know more on this, and further whispers quickly spread about an incident involving afternoon tea and salt.
As well, one of the farmers who usually tends fields outside of the walls, is seen making a mad dash out of the Regal Whore, followed up to the gates by a madly screaming Myrie, waving a pan high above her head. The cook is said to have been thrown in a fit of rage for complaints about the lack of meat in her stews, shouting that "the next time it'll be yer bones in me dish!"_
-
One or two farmers close to the town center are seen complaining in the Regal Whore about an outgrowth of blight upon some of their crops. As for the Regal Whore itself, little besides soup is being served, as the meat they had in storage had "grown a bit fuzzy on the edges" says a whistful owner.
A couple patches of grass have turned sickly yellow and died behind the benches, and then leading in a direct line to the western gate.
