Jiyyd Rumors
-
Anyone wishing to speak with me on the werewolf matter, may find me in Jiyyd or in the gypsy camp, simply ask for Aelthas Benthur.
_After saying that, Aelthas is seen once again heading off to the east, if anyone follows, they see him simply kill a deer and leave the meat just inside the cave entrance, he then sits outside the cave for some time, as if waiting for the werewolf to emerge.
He can be seen doing this most days by any who are near and makes no attempt to hide the fact that he is feeding it. He spends more and more time each day near the cave.. especially after hearing about the body found there.
He has also been heard asking where the body went to, if it was brought to the Temple for burial._

_Visitors to the poor werewolf cave near Jiyyd may be surprised to find a naked human body there. Looks like it was ripped apart by something strong, with large claws.
Astute trackers checking soon enough afterwards might be able to find tracks near the cave including a smallish set of footprints with uneven stride length. The bootprints are nondescript, but definitely indicate an injured left leg. The farmworkers don't report hearing anything unusual._

The silver haired Sister, Nyda, nods with a smile to word of the mans attempts to contact the Werewolf.
"Yes, please leave the creature be, Aelthas is attempting to bring it into Selune's Light, he has my support in this and I have laid in a goodly supply of Belladonna"

A blond half-elf wearing green and black leather and a brown cloak seems to take interest in the rumors about the man in blue and grey plate. She asks for all the details she can about the man and his incident with the werewolf.
"Verry interresting," she remarks with a slight purr in her voice. She seems to quite readily agree that the werewolf should be left alone.
-
Rumor has it that a council has conveened and decided to rename Stirges to Wisps, and Wisps to Stirges. This decision seems to be causing an uproar among the long-lived citizens of Jiyyd. Whether this story is purely fictional, or completely true, is hard to tell.
-
Rumour buzzes around the town about a thick darkness covering the swamp, penetrated by flashing, strange lights. Eerie howls have been heard and foul hounds have attacked the townsfolk, causing most to bar all their windows and doors. As a small group entered the swamp with grim and determined faces, a group of stout defenders took their position near the entrance of the murky place. Demonic beings poured out to attack the defenders whilst the other group ventured deep into the swamp on their mission, returning hours later looking tired but cautiously optimistic about their success. The darkness has lifted, the town is safe and the swamp is now once more the home to nothing more than the lovely stirges, wisps and occasional troll.
-
_People who live on the road begin to talk about a man in blue and grey plate heading into the werewolf cave near town, exiting a short time later with a werewolf running after him. A short fight took place, with the man avoiding the attacks of the creature and not attacking back for several minutes. Instead he appeared to be attempting to talk to it.
Apparently the werewolf would not stop attacking, so the man was forced to try and subdue the creature as best he could , if this was successful or not is yet to be seen and he was seen picking the creature up and dragging it back into the cave, leaving again, sighing as he looked over the claw marks on his body.
The man was seen in town after, asking people to stay away from the cave if at all possible, if the werewolf does not come out and bother anyone, that they should leave it alone. That it is a child of Selune._

_Nicahh is seen strolling into Jiyyd with a near foolish smile upon her lips, her seemingly unaware of it, though she blushes slightly when she finds herself humming some. After a few moments to recover and refocus her thoughts, she sets about excitedly talking to different groups in the town, asking if any are interested in helping the Sisterhood to escort some kids from Peltarch down to the Sisterhood estate. She says they will be making the trip soon, and if folks have the time, to please leave a message for her at the Sisterhood.
If it is the adoption of the kids from Peltarch, or other outside forces, that has her so cheerful, it is hard to say._

For a few days there is a slight increase in hostility about Jiyyd. Two elves seemed to have had disagreement or misunderstanding, and can be seen leering at one another, just as one would draw her blade and hide herself under a spell of invisibility. The familiar blonde silver robed elf can't be seen in town for a short time, while another with purple hair is in town. Her name is called as people search the surrounding grounds for her, but eventually she gives in to reconcile over a strange but good cup of tea.
-
_A peaceful dawn on the Jiyyd commons is shattered when a small group of adventurers rush in the west gate. One word is spoken, and instantly spells of protection and augmentation are cast from all quarters.
The one word: Drow.
Rumor spreads that Lope, Kirlan, and an unknown gnome fought a drow wizard in a savage duel on the Central Plains, forestalling a drow raiding party.
A larger, better-armed band of heroes was seen setting out with the morning sun, intent on examining the caves on the plains for signs of what the drow are up to._

_After an incident invloving Aelthas, a helmite and the spirit of Thorin Bloodaxe, he was seen chuckling with the helmite at the south gate.
He was heard commenting about how not everyone was told about this spirit and there is no way of knowing if it was hostile or not. He was also heard saying that at no time did he raise his weapon to the spirit or threaten it in any way before its attack, which he also did not fight back during. He went to talk to it and it attacked him.
He was seen talking to the spirit later out on the road before heading off north.
He leaves word at the temple for Jirka, expressing his sincere apologies for any misunderstanding and he has no intention of harming the spirit, but that next time it may be good if people were properly informed of spirits who may be wandering through the town. As something like that could be seen as a problem by some._

@aaaf58577a=v_black:
A rumor seems to suggest that the drow want to take away the sun, or maybe move the entire surface undergound.
Lope, overhearing this, bursts into braying laughter.
_"I was there when the rumor got started, and it's nothing more than people being too clever for their own good.
"Came from a Yuan-Ti being questioned on what the Drow were up to… in answer, it just looked up at the sun.
"Aha! So clearly the Drow are after the sun!
"Except the next thing the snake said was, 'You should not be found in these woods... after dark.'
"Could it be that it was glancing at the sun... for the reason most people do... to get an idea of how close we were to nightfall? Seems more likely to me than the Drow being able to put out the sun.
"So all we need to worry about now is their plan to murder us all in the night, plunging Narfell into an era of their dark, spider-fetished rule in which the surface races are slaves, cattle, and sport.
"The lollipops, now, I believe that one. Until this wild magic garbage is over we're going to see stranger things than that."_
She grins widely, and goes back to mending a gash in her chainmail.

Word spreads of an imminent invasion from the North, wreaking havoc upon the town of Jiyyd. The feared enemy? Lollipops. Local hear-say has it that a lollipop, once viewed to be an innocent, delicious treat, may be the leading cause of wild magics in and around the once peaceful hamlet.

a certain elder of the circle would like to know the location of whatever plant the drow are smoking
I would like to point out that Fool has been espousing the effects of those mushrooms in the underdark for ages.
-
A messenger was sent to jiyyd looking for the legion, a slightly worrying expression…
-
It seems one of the more interesting things the wild magic has caused was the summoning of a firey salamander to the plains before Jiyyd. It caused havoc for a while, not quite pleased about being called from the plane of fire and left a few trees burning before vanishing again. Luckily no one died.

A man in Legion colored leathers was seen talking with a beautiful blond-haired woman for hours, just inside the entrance to the Jiyyd bat caves

Genzir can be seen running around in a dignified frenzy, casting spells (of magic detection, to those who would recognize the) all over town and on the outskirts, and asking if anybody knows what caused the recent degradation of the Weave.
