Jiyyd Rumors
-
_After an incident invloving Aelthas, a helmite and the spirit of Thorin Bloodaxe, he was seen chuckling with the helmite at the south gate.
He was heard commenting about how not everyone was told about this spirit and there is no way of knowing if it was hostile or not. He was also heard saying that at no time did he raise his weapon to the spirit or threaten it in any way before its attack, which he also did not fight back during. He went to talk to it and it attacked him.
He was seen talking to the spirit later out on the road before heading off north.
He leaves word at the temple for Jirka, expressing his sincere apologies for any misunderstanding and he has no intention of harming the spirit, but that next time it may be good if people were properly informed of spirits who may be wandering through the town. As something like that could be seen as a problem by some._

@aaaf58577a=v_black:
A rumor seems to suggest that the drow want to take away the sun, or maybe move the entire surface undergound.
Lope, overhearing this, bursts into braying laughter.
_"I was there when the rumor got started, and it's nothing more than people being too clever for their own good.
"Came from a Yuan-Ti being questioned on what the Drow were up to… in answer, it just looked up at the sun.
"Aha! So clearly the Drow are after the sun!
"Except the next thing the snake said was, 'You should not be found in these woods... after dark.'
"Could it be that it was glancing at the sun... for the reason most people do... to get an idea of how close we were to nightfall? Seems more likely to me than the Drow being able to put out the sun.
"So all we need to worry about now is their plan to murder us all in the night, plunging Narfell into an era of their dark, spider-fetished rule in which the surface races are slaves, cattle, and sport.
"The lollipops, now, I believe that one. Until this wild magic garbage is over we're going to see stranger things than that."_
She grins widely, and goes back to mending a gash in her chainmail.

Word spreads of an imminent invasion from the North, wreaking havoc upon the town of Jiyyd. The feared enemy? Lollipops. Local hear-say has it that a lollipop, once viewed to be an innocent, delicious treat, may be the leading cause of wild magics in and around the once peaceful hamlet.

a certain elder of the circle would like to know the location of whatever plant the drow are smoking
I would like to point out that Fool has been espousing the effects of those mushrooms in the underdark for ages.
-
A messenger was sent to jiyyd looking for the legion, a slightly worrying expression…
-
It seems one of the more interesting things the wild magic has caused was the summoning of a firey salamander to the plains before Jiyyd. It caused havoc for a while, not quite pleased about being called from the plane of fire and left a few trees burning before vanishing again. Luckily no one died.

A man in Legion colored leathers was seen talking with a beautiful blond-haired woman for hours, just inside the entrance to the Jiyyd bat caves

Genzir can be seen running around in a dignified frenzy, casting spells (of magic detection, to those who would recognize the) all over town and on the outskirts, and asking if anybody knows what caused the recent degradation of the Weave.
-
It is rumored that Draihken, Raver and Sywyn discovered a werewolve nest just outside of Jiyyd, the werewolve was destroyed and the corpse's within the cave were burned to prevent any spread of the lycanthropy disease, the location of the werewolve was given to them by the heroic farmers boy Jordi who had seen the creature and had planned to kill it himself

Anyone venturing to the plains can see the bodies of orcs scattered like broken childrens dolls
-
Word spreads that a squad of orcs were on recently on the East Road attacking three people searching for a trouble-maker that was in town before. Major Theaon can be heard muttering that if the orc chief wishes to meet with General Grag, they should honor the cease-fire instead of acting like the pig farkers they normally are.
-
*General Grag is seen carrying a dead corpse with many legion members and Shane tot he Helm temple many seemed happy with this man being dead…....

Residents awaken one morning to an absolutely delightful smell coming from the cookpot by the gate. The stew-pot is filled with a soup made with meaty soup-bones, garlic, onions, and a large quantity of very unusual mushrooms that you would not recognize unless you happen to frequent mineral-rich areas of the underdark. The Keeper of Spellweaver and another man sit by the pot sipping bowls of the soup, which is soon devoured by the local farmers and other townsfolk, some travelers, and a few legionnaires. The pot is empty by early afternoon.
EDIT:
Later on, Genzir, Nym and Seer are seen standing around near the gate talking in, again, a bewildering multitude of languages and commenting on whether they make sense and understand each other.

A red-haired young man with a pike sits in the inn, having a few ales, and soon gets drawn into a conversation about the current council..
"Wi' them Helmers and them Legion.. wha's the councel doin' anyways, 'cept fer sittin' on them arses whilest people 're dyin'. Ah say, let them Legion er Helmers run town.. er tha' Dwin.. 'least they get things done wit'."

A great bolt of lightening recently struck the cookpot in Jiyyd, zapping it into oblivion and in its place leaving a rather confused and panicked chicken. The small crowd were at first dumb-struck by the feathery visitor's flashy arrival, but the real trouble began when the chicken clucked and a ring of fire surrounded it. The bird panicked even more at this, running about and leaving trails of wildfire in its wake. It headed for the Silver Valley, and there the mystery was solved by shopkeeper Freppi after some more fiery troubles. It seems an insistant gnome mage bought some rather peculiar eggs from the store, and apparantly thought it a fine idea to eat them…Speaking the mage's name, Pluck, returned the gnome to his rightful form. Thus the age-old mystery of what came first, the chicken or the egg, was solved: it was the egg.

With a nice sized crowd in jiyyd, Genzir and Lucidious spent some time testing a spell they had been researching in their spare time. Placing the crowd between them, they would each cast in turn, attempt to whisper messages back and forth though the crowd without being overheard. Just as they seemed to be making some progress, the spell apparently backfired setting off sonic distortions in the ears of both casters causing temporary deafness and bleeding from the ears. Those nearby at the time said it sounded like muffled thunderclaps going off around them. Luckily, the cleric Raryldor was on hand to tend to their injuries before any permanent damage was done.

Major Theaon can be seen taking a Legion scout to the well in Jiyyd. The scout is holding a pencil and a ruler. Theaon carefully lowers the scout into the well. About 20 minutes later, Theaon pulled the scout of the well. Onlookers just saw the scout muttering what seemed to be a few numbers to the Major.

On a rather quiet evening, a woman of the sisterhood returns from the swamp and bears a warning. At first ignored, she is tracked down soon enough by a sun elven wizard who brings her back to the town and has her retell the story of what transpired which involved a demon by the words of the sun elven wizard. The paladins present proceed to the swamp without hesitation. The wizard, being not quite as quick, follows them after a short delay but he returns soon thereafter to the fire, bearing fresh bruises and a bad mood. A long time later, the redhead from the sisterhood also returns and warns people to not enter the swamp because of a shadowy demon that haunts there. The names Zoma and Grey are often mentioned, in connection with this.
