Jiyyd Rumors

A great bolt of lightening recently struck the cookpot in Jiyyd, zapping it into oblivion and in its place leaving a rather confused and panicked chicken. The small crowd were at first dumb-struck by the feathery visitor's flashy arrival, but the real trouble began when the chicken clucked and a ring of fire surrounded it. The bird panicked even more at this, running about and leaving trails of wildfire in its wake. It headed for the Silver Valley, and there the mystery was solved by shopkeeper Freppi after some more fiery troubles. It seems an insistant gnome mage bought some rather peculiar eggs from the store, and apparantly thought it a fine idea to eat them…Speaking the mage's name, Pluck, returned the gnome to his rightful form. Thus the age-old mystery of what came first, the chicken or the egg, was solved: it was the egg.

With a nice sized crowd in jiyyd, Genzir and Lucidious spent some time testing a spell they had been researching in their spare time. Placing the crowd between them, they would each cast in turn, attempt to whisper messages back and forth though the crowd without being overheard. Just as they seemed to be making some progress, the spell apparently backfired setting off sonic distortions in the ears of both casters causing temporary deafness and bleeding from the ears. Those nearby at the time said it sounded like muffled thunderclaps going off around them. Luckily, the cleric Raryldor was on hand to tend to their injuries before any permanent damage was done.

Major Theaon can be seen taking a Legion scout to the well in Jiyyd. The scout is holding a pencil and a ruler. Theaon carefully lowers the scout into the well. About 20 minutes later, Theaon pulled the scout of the well. Onlookers just saw the scout muttering what seemed to be a few numbers to the Major.

On a rather quiet evening, a woman of the sisterhood returns from the swamp and bears a warning. At first ignored, she is tracked down soon enough by a sun elven wizard who brings her back to the town and has her retell the story of what transpired which involved a demon by the words of the sun elven wizard. The paladins present proceed to the swamp without hesitation. The wizard, being not quite as quick, follows them after a short delay but he returns soon thereafter to the fire, bearing fresh bruises and a bad mood. A long time later, the redhead from the sisterhood also returns and warns people to not enter the swamp because of a shadowy demon that haunts there. The names Zoma and Grey are often mentioned, in connection with this.

From time to time, Genzir and Elridith are seen standing near the campfire speaking in what seems to be a number of different, strange languages. Their bizarre dialog is interspersed with some phrases in the local tongue, and others in less-common but familiar ones. Those comprehensible parts of the conversation, if that's what it is, are completely random and disconnected, switching topics for no apparent reason. Throughout the conversation, Genzir waves his hands and fingers around in the precise, elegant gestures of a spell-casting mage.

_Late one evening Dwin Dolvak arrives in Jiyyd with 6 Norwick Guardsmen and 4 mule-drawn carts. The group heads straight to the Crafters Workshop where Dwin leaves one guard outside and brings the rest in with him.
For the next 2-3 hours, the men and Dwin load the carts with crates, some heavier than others. Dwin takes careful notes, writing a number on each crate and recording the inventory in a small book.
The carts are eventually loaded and the contents tethered with ropes and covered with oilcloths. 2 of the guards walk ahead to the gate, and flash a hand signal to the rest that it is safe to proceed.
As soon as the group leaves the gates, bows are drawn and the party continue quickly, but cautiously, along the west road._

The Black-Robe Highwayman is said to have snuck inside Jiyyd, using a spell of invisibility to taunt previous victims and appearing and disappearing mockingly. Neither the Helmite guards nor those of the Legion seemed able to apprehend him.

At hearing the rumour Juster nods in agreement.
"Yea, i saw him walk up and bump against Krull and the thought crossed my mind but i didn't think anything of it. Then he goes and does the same to Genzir and then just bolts off as Genzir turns around. Funny, i waved to him and said hello, and he still tried to rob my friend right in front of me."
Juster then just walks off lightly shaking his head and grumbling about hins having to keep the stereotype alive.

_Apparently there was a small commotion in the commons, a hin that supposedly stole or attempted to steal from Genzir. Aelthas was seen taking the hin to the legion halls with genzir and Lady Kara, so the mob that was forming around him wouldnt hurt him. Genzir was heard remarking that a simple payment of mopping the legion hall would suffice for payment for the crime against him.
The hin gave them a hard time and was later brought to the guard at the gates, who grew tired of his constant yelling and so pointed to the gates. Aelthas escorted the hin out so everyone would be able to relax for a bit, at which point, the hin returned to town by jumping over the wall and started his complaining again.
Aelthas simply remarked he would find Genzir to press formal charges and let the council handle it. He also seems to be looking for Lyte and a Lady Khaya that may have witnessed the crime_

Word spreads of powerful undead and duerger inhabiting Mintas. Something about pink creatures and exploding bears.

Word has it that in the way to jyid the Half orcs plead for help, in hope that their brethren would come to their aid. Such plead wasnt heard, or at least wasnt attended in that precise moment.
When moked, by the lack of courage frm their pure blood brethrens, Ugluk rumgut replayed…" wait and see
KULL (Half Orc Barbarian, Training Officer and Major in the Legion)
“To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!”

_The crowd watches as a rather odd party enters the town.
In the front is Natanya, with Maristion close behind. They are seen leading the wanted halforc Ugluk Rumgut, his brother and a third halforc with Grummish symbol about his neck. Behind is Roland, darone and Krull.
The crowd watches as the three halforcs is tied up, being pronounced as "bandits attempting assault and robbery of lady Natanya in the Nars."
They are lead to the legion jail cells where they are left awaiting news as to what will be done with them._

A band of paladins from Peltarch brought in three half-orc prisoners, including the infamous Ugluk Rumgut. They had tried to rob one of the paladins in the Pass. Genzir, William and Lilin were on hand and had a Legion cell prepared for the three bandits, who are now being held there.
The three bandits' hands were tied behind their backs with a length of sturdy rope, binding them all together in a train, before they were taken to the cells.

_*General Lyte is seen by many taking extreme measures to make sure legion colors are not visible on the orc plains during the past few weeks, and is heard yelling and gesturing to a legion patrol loudly near the West Gate in an uncharacteristic manner.
Legion soldiers at the town's gates are trebled, and the legion in general seems extremely active and on alert. Some legion parties are seen to be bringing in long deadwoog logs, stacking them near the Legion Hall. Legion people seem to be taking measurements of the hill near the Southgate, as if planning some architectural project.*_

Shane is being seen heading into the home of Vroka and Finnius. After thanking them for their help, and paying them for any costs that could still be uncalled for, she returns back to the Temple with Draihken's remains.

Several headless bodies were found lying to the side of the Long Road. There was a staked corpse next to them as well with a large wooden box set at the base of the stake. Rumors tell of a horrific find within the box itself… the intact skin of a human. Scrawled on the skin were Orcish words that some have said mentioned something about not being able to protect the citizens of Jiyyd from within the walls themselves. It is told that one hapless adventurer was later attacked in the Windy Plains, beaten unconcious and tossed over the south wall of Jiyyd, again with a message attached to her armor. Several brave adventurers headed into the Windy Plains to find the attacker and were met by an Orc Mage. A chase ensued and eventually ended with the Mage making its way thru the gates of the fortress where the adventurers promptly ended the pursuit. Angry and frustrated, the adventurers were seen making their way back into Jiyyd speaking of the Orc Mage in not-do-kind words.

_Whispers amongst the locals of demon sightings in the swamp of Jiyyd had created an atmosphere of uneasiness amongst the locals and the Watchmen.
Justene was sighted heading into the swamp when news from a group of adventurers who came from the swamp informed her of demonic presence in the area. After some time later, Justene was seen staggering out of the swamp in a near death state covered with severe wounds only to be saved by Hedia. Bodies of lemures were strewn across the mouth of the swamp from Justene's slayings.
Three adventurers consisting of Hedia, Elridith and Zoma volunteered for Justene to investigate in her stead while she went to report the Jiyyd Council.
Many hours later, the trio reappeared from the swamp in an injured state with one of them recognised as Zoma being dragged all the way to Vroka unconscious.
Some observers noticed there is a strange mark found on the insides of his palm before the three of them disappeared into the Healing Wonders in a concerning state._

_Rumour spreads troughout the town that the gondar priest Dentin, the young girl Genevieve and several others aided a gnomish master in completing a machine that allowed them to fly to the summit of a mountain to recover a lense of vital importance to the gnome artificer, a rumour apparantly supported by a number of medallions Dentin has been wearing proudly in the past days.
Dentin has been travelling to an area north of the Silver Valley for a few days since, returning in a surprisingly good mood and spending the night feasting with the common folk, though anyone who would not qualify as "common folk" is met with the same stoic, almost uncaring, demeanor._

_It is stated that an Orcish Mage came forth from the planes to the gates of Jiyyd. Heros, standing upon the wall, stood and watched…for some reason giving the evil creature the benifit of the doubt as far as diplomacy. Without much surprise, the Orc took advantage of the slow response and set the Jiyyd gates ablazed. This brought the defenders arms to bear, as the Orc shot forth a ball of crackling electricity and fled.
A group of adventurer's, comprising largely of the Divine Shield, took to the planes and slew a large orc force that was amassing in the hills.
No legion were reported to have been in the plains prior to the attack, however words that Krig Skullboil the Crafter Master was collecting the ears of the beasts some time earlier._

More rumors come in of another robbery just outside of Jiyyd. It appears two men were robbed at the same time. One did try to fight back, but to only come back into Jiyyd with electrical burns. It appears it was the black robed man that commited this crime.
