    DEFINITIONS:
    DM: Acronym for Dungeon Master, in other lands also known as Game Master, Storyteller or Referee. For those familiar with Role Playing and Pen and Paper Games this is a familiar term. For those new to the idea, a description is in order. DMs keep the show alive. Anything that is not automatically scripted and static in the world is run by the DMs. Invisible and all powerful, they create the plots of Narfell, keep it moving forward through monsters and friendly townsfolk, reward you with XP for creative thinking and excellent Role Playing, and ultimately police the server to keep it free of griefers and problem players.

    SDM: Or Story DMs. These are DMs in charge of one of the towns in Narfell (Norwick, Jiyyd, Peltarch, and the Gypsy Camp amongst others). Capable of creating epic story lines and ongoing plots, these DMs give their respective towns an atmosphere and an undercurrent. These are the DMs that have the ultimate say in what type of jobs you can hold in the city, what custom items you are allowed to create, what factions and NPCs will be like in the town, and what the major themes and quests will be for that area. There are also ADMs or Assistant Story DMs that are the back-ups and secondaries to the SDMs, with similar responsibilities… they answer to the SDMs.

    Roaming DMs: Whether tied to a city, in charge of a group of guilds, or free to roam the countryside making trouble, DMs run plots and events, reward players, and punish the wicked.

    Guild DM: Is the DM for the approval of guilds charters, guild items, guild plotlines, guild events and guild activity. See the guild forums for more on guilds.
