How Summoner got his familiar.

  • Saturus, as a young boy, was always interested in the art of magic. He would always pretend to cast spells as a boy. When he was of age, he went to a magic school, were he learned the art. His first day, which was to learn about the different schools of magic, he became very interested in the art of conjuration and summoning. He thought conjuration would be the most interesting because summoning creatures could prove to be useful if he were in a bad situation. He though casting fireballs and magic missles just might harm himself or not be as effective. He slowly learned how to conjure creatures from other realms of existance. His first summon was a large rat, which he was very proud of, but it wouldnt prove useful in a bad situation.

He wanted to learn faster, so one night, against his teacher's wishes, he took a book on conjuration for the advanced mage. He then opened the book and found a creature he would like to summon, which was an ice mephit. He then cast the spell, flawlessly and an ice mephit was summoned, though he was weakened greatly for casting such an advanced spell at a young age. He limped back to his room, with the mephit following him. Saturus asked, "How you have not returned to your realm mister mephit?" The mephit only smiled at him, flying around the room. He was curious why the mephit had not been sent back, because only a few mages can summon a permenant creature. Saturus, then, went to his master, ready to except his punishment for stealing a book and casting an advanced spell. Though, he was curious. His master had no explination of how a child could summon something permenant. Saturus decided to keep the mephit and name it Bliz, since it was an ice mephit and that it could freeze things. To this day, Bliz still travels with Saturus as a life long companion.
