Happy New Year - Changes ahead for Forgotten Realms - Narfell!

Hello all!
Happy New Year! Here's an update of the initiatives for Narfell and the community.
The PW is going to move forward with a couple of major changes - the first being we're planning on changing the name to Forgotten Realms - Narfell, to advantage the FR brand and tie into the brand awareness of the FR setting. This will be reflected in various ways, such as naming on the Beamdog server list, and in the discord. We're also hoping to leverage the name-change in new marketing initiatives via social media! Wish us luck!
The second major change is that we are also moving the server onto Build 10. There's a couple of reasons for this - since Build 9, there has been incredible changes to the server (some good, some not so good - send flames to @Admin on discord), and we thought a new build number would reflect the changes that have happened since Build 9 was created (checks notes)... 17 years ago! This honors the naming convention of the server, but puts us in a good place for the future. The first build number will be 1001... and will continue in increments up to 1099, and which it will change into Build 1100 (we might throw in lettering in there i.e. 1001a through 1001z, etc), but lets not get ahead of ourselves.
We want to host IG things like perennial fave Fight Nights, and new ones like Newbie and Low Level events, Dungeon Crawls, Gate Attacks, Exploration Trips, Questapalooza, Race Relation events, all on top of regular campaign events from our dedicated staff! We have a proposed pattern of calendared events that will need to be organized, but we feel a model with a regular schedule gives the community the opportunity to schedule their involvement as they deem fit. We'll also be doing stuff OOG (Out of Game for those asking) like AMAs, Toolset Demos, Screencap events, and my personal fave, SERVER HOPS. There will be plenty of opportunities for the community to contribute, so keep your eyes out for the calendar. Further details will be forthcoming, but feel free to reach out to any of your friendly neighborhood staff members if you have questions!
We're also having some staff turnover, so we thought we'd let everyone know where we are in terms of administration of the server.
As of now, we will have two full-time AT (Araighn and Lence), one full-time Dev (Lence), two full-time DMs (Maythor and Darkpowder), and one PG (Wolfe). Seth is TBD at the moment for the DM team, as he is wrapped up IRL.
Jazz will be stepping away from his AT role, and Kronan will be stepping down from her DM position.
We thank both of them for their hard work and appreciate their stewardship of the server! They will be missed on staff, but we hope to see them IG in 2026!
