Narfell Server - Staff Team agreed items for implementation

    Update on what's been now -agreed- by all staff and and will be undertaken as soon as possible.

    Just to update the players, that all the staff PG, AT and DM's are in agreement that the items proposed in the deliverables-list will be carried out, and are an appropriate response to the player consultation priorities.
    Please read through the whole document to see what has been agreed.
    So far the argument we put forward is that frankly, not enough has yet been delivered by this new team, considering the time the current staff has been in position, so this is an expression of transparency as promised to the playerbase that we intend to put that right, so we can go forward and encourage new and previous players to not only enjoy these new changes, but to actually contribute to making them happen
    I think i speak for the team as not all are my or any one persons personal preference, but are considered consolidated ideas that we consider will work together. They are required for a consistent baseline reflective of the aims of encouraging more players, more time logged-in, more interaction and more time in-game, with appropriate and exciting rewards and development to look forward to as a player.
    All are dependent on dev-time, and some details are still requiring some review activities. Fundamentally our success as a server relies on contributions from the community, and it was the transparent consultation since 2024 which has driven us to spend a long time agreeing on some decisive change for the server setting we all enjoy. We look forward to working with everyone, new players and old in the spirit of cooperation and the opportunity to see your efforts come to fruition.

    Player Experience Changes carried out (to-date: July 2025)
    Resting now in (almost) every area, but still at risk.
    Move of starting town to norwick
    Improved player creation OOC area, to facilitate players getting in-game faster and with more guidance.
    Brought in extra DM's when needed.
    Brought in extra AT to accomplish the admin duties / rebuilds / enchantment, allowing Lence to concentrate on mapping/Dev.
    Fixing of inconsistent spawns and maps.

    IC/Plot: (to-date: July 2025)
    Developed overhanging plots/unfinished plots to a logical stage where they can be interacted with and developed. Full intention to resolve many confusing plots to many players, and unaligned plots to a place where they can be roleplayed with to a consistent degree.
    Resolved long-standing actions against Nars bandits, developed accordingly.
    Started long-term campaign with 100% player actions directly and persistently affecting the world.

    Key Priorities from the Player Consultation: 2024-2025

    • Overhaul and/or Automate Enchantment
    • Improve party play
    • Training/Education on the Lore of the server.
    • Devise and deliver server promotion plan
    • Cosmetic starting maps improvements

    To Deliver these, the following are now unanimously AGREED.
    They will be finalised, with some pre-requisites and details but this will be the result.

    • Open up ALL PRCs subject to qualification

    • Boost enchanting rules to 15 points (use minimum levels to equip equal to POINTS VALUE and large multipliers of cost increase in gold and xp)

    • Bring back an increased and non-gatekept contribution of crafted goods as a required component to all enchantment from 10-15 points. This includes the most rare and powerful crafted ores/woods/skins being available to all.
      15 point item will require - MW Adamantium / Darkwood item.
      14 point item will require - MW Mithril / Yew
      13 point item will require - MW Platinum / Redwood
      12 point item will require - MW Steel / Elm
      11 point item will require - MW Silver / Ash
      10 point item will require - MW Iron / Cherry
      (A Simple cost-table for other non-craftable items, increasing for the same metal/wood/leather items)
      (Increasing/altering recipies where there are gaps)
      RNG WILL still be at maximum difficulty higher than what can be done with enchantment on the harded automated quests.

    • Review of STAT/SAVE etc Item limits to be undertaken.

    • Revert TR systems, to remove limit.

    • New consistent hunting grounds so level 12+ have more options

    • Boost RP ticker bonus when you are with others and RPing... eg. instead of 20% making it 50%

    • Fix combat XP in parties so it is higher than soloing. The current system actually is better for soloing.

    • Add more hunting grounds so that they REQUIRE parties. More traps, locks etc. that require rogue skills.

    • Fix RNG loot to include any item-types/weapons that are missing for parity.

    CAVEATS:

    • PRC Unlocks: DM's write RP expectations / clarifications on PRC expectations. (verbatim quotes from the source material is fine). That includes all PRC's including the ones already open. [ These should and will be as canon as possible true to FR canon ]. This allows the justified trust in players, and improves consistency without prescriptive RP outside of written FR guidelines and descriptions.

    • RP/Class level limits currently to remain the same until more detailed balance can be reviewed after PRC restricttions have been lifted. i.e. monk/paladin etc and the "organisations" entries.

    • Item enchantment: Also Equivalent LVL to points value for all -enchanted- items only? (LVL 15 required for 15 points value enchanted item)

    • Item Enchantment: No more than 1 enchanted item per month / player, as alas it's not automated. (yet)
