Server Direction (Current Status Regarding Open Letters)

Primary considerations
We are considering implementing a Community Lead/Rep
- It's very clear that the "Player Guide" role of ages past needs to make a return in some form AND that those filling this role should have some say in server direction. Whoever moves into these roles will also then have responsibility to mediate between other staff members and the player base. The number of such positions has yet to be determined, but they will be elected by the player base.
We are considering implementing an Admin Team
- Changes here would possibly see the majority of DMs moving to a story-only role while members of the development team and player representatives make democratic decisions about where we go.
We are considering the current DM Team stepping down en masse
- Self-explanatory, but there is no mandate for this at this time.
We are considering different selection mechanics for DMs outside of the current DM voting system
- This should also read as "different selection mechanics for the Admin Team" if that's a direction we're going to go. In any case, it is likely that future state teams will always retain some say in who joins them, but it is expected that any end result here would allow player voice to have significant weight.
We are considering changes to DM/staff code of conduct as well as consequences thereof - this was already in discussion
- While the code of conduct is already rather explicit about any form of self-dealing and item rules, it essentially has no fangs nor any spelled out process for removal or consequences for actions outside the set boundaries. This needs to become more concrete and will change with community input.
We are not considering doing nothing
- Self-explanatory, but important. It has been obvious for some time to the team that things need to change for the server to survive and thrive. Obviously things have escalated in recent weeks.
Secondary considerations
(These issues will be resolved once the new admin structure is in place to discuss them.)
We are considering a server wipe/reset
- Self-explanatory.
We are considering changes to level, XP, and TR mechanics
- If changes are not made to server mechanics, there would be minimal point in doing a server wipe or reset.
