Word spreads around the camp about the anceint Romani people

  • ::All who spend any time within the camp will hear the stories behind the Ancient book found and translated. Romani's speak around the fires. In their huts and caves. Katya seems to turn grim faced whenever asked about this information. The King, takes a drink when asked what should be done. Many of the Romani people fear of the times ahead. Many ask who will help solve this before it is to late::

What the ancient book found by several of the camp members has revealed was the very old Romani people who lived within Narfell. The Camp sits right on top of the very camp of ancient times going back 1000 years. What appears to come to light is that the land in and around the camp is the site of an ancient holy ground of Mystra which is spelled throughout the book as Mystryl which is the way it was spelled in ancient times.
What seems to have come to be is the anniversary of the fall of the Temple of Mystryl 1000 years ago when Romani once roamed this holy site.

The Head Priest of Mystra was named Covari. Their was a following of seven who made up the temples priests and priestesses.

Their names were Yevkos, High Priest who was Covari’s closest and most trusted friend.
High priestess Rlia who was Covari’s wife
High priest Sinti who was once the Head priest of the temple but in time was replaces by Covari who seemed to relate to the Romani people and was favored by Mystryl.
High Priest Ashkali Oldest and seems from the work within this book to be the wisest of men throughout the lands.
High priestess Jenische was very young and beautiful young women from all that is written and never gave herself to anyone. She was pure of mind, heart, body and soul. All of the Romani people looked to her as the daughter of Mystryl.
High priest Kovachi, little is written of Kovachi. What can be deciphered is he was only a member of the circle of 7 for a few years.
High priest Rudars all that is mentioned of this one in the book is he was very young and seemed to be under the tutelage of Sinti.

What happened seems to be a mystery. The book seems to end without any real understanding as to what happened. In different hand writing many years later a few pages talk about the fall of the temple and Mystryl due to Jealousy, contempt, deception and murder. These last few pages talk about the fall of Mystra’s temple and the rise of a new temple. The Temple of Shar.

What the elders and bards have figured out while vague is this:

The ancient Romani people have lived within Narfell on the very ground the camp sits now for 1000 years. Something happened that caused the good people who followed Mystryl to change. As the years of slow decay of this once ancient holy ground changed for the worse. It seems eventually they started to follow Shar. What the elders have concluded is that Mystra became angry and left these people to deal with their change. Leaving their souls in the hands of Shar. Seems their was a 1000 year curse where they would have to suffer and now that time has passed. Now their souls search for peace. The very survival of both the suffering romani souls and the living Romani’s are facing a battle between Mystra and Shar. The answers must be found to free the souls of the past. The answers will not be easy to find but it seems that the spirits of the head priest and the circle of seven must be found and if possible spoken to in order to gain the knowledge needed to destroy this curse. If the answers are not found then the elders fear Shar shall win once and for all and the lands that have been holy grounds for the Romani people for a millinium will decay to the point that nothing will be able to live their. The darkness that has cursed the lands grows stronger each day. The undead that roam the lands now are the souls of the ancient Romani people.

  • Cotton looks to those around the fire and begines to speak of her worries

  • The following is an excerpt from a letter written and delivered to the King of the Gypsy Camp by messenger:

    Your Majesty,

I believe I have some insights that may assist you. I have been hearing some rumors circulating of a lost book that holds the key to your history and the history of your people.

I am a symbologist of Deneir and I have come to the Narfell region to research a book that I am writing on the symbolism of the area and how it relates to modern times. I fear that your camp is of special interest and you all may be in grave danger.

Early in my research I made an important discovery. I had the epiphany, undoubtably from Deneir Himself that the land of Narfell is a vortex of strange powers, a hotspot if you will of supernatural occurances. Your camp represents an important piece of understanding this puzzle.

((Here is a drawing of a sword))

If you look at the drawing above, you will most likely see the common symbol of a sword, a symbol that almost universally represents power and might. It also represents bloodshed and turmoil. Now if I alter the symbol slightly you may notice something else indeed.

((Here is a drawing of a sword with a circle at both ends of the hilt, one at the handle, and one at the tip))

Do you see the difference? Here, look at this one:

((Here the circles are labeled. At the handle, the circle says "Norwick", the hilt's circles say "Gypsy Camp" and "Jyidd", the point says "Peltarch"))

Now you perhaps see it. It is an exact map of the Narfell region with Narfell's major areas of inhabitation represented by the circles. There are other areas of inhabitation as well in Narfell, but these points show the most populated. I came upon this discovery early on. Now I have had another important revelation that has direct impact upon your people.

If you consider that the region of Narfell is laid out upon a symbolic sword, in a North-South direction, then your camp and it's peoples live upon the Left-Hand side of the hilt of the sword.

As you may know wise-one, the left-hand side has historically been used to represent evil and malice. In this already hugely symbolic area, full of innate power, your settlement has been built upon the area that is literally the source of evil in the lands.

Now I am not saying at all that you or your people are evil. But I do know from what I have heard that your camp is very old, ancient even. I do believe that the powers that brought your people to this area to settle may not have had your best interests in mind.

I pray for your safety and the continued survival of your Great Family. I hope that I am wrong in what I am coming to believe in more and more as I continue my research into the area's powers. I pray that your great camp was not built upon evil lands and that it's placement in the Great Sword of Narfell does not negatively impact your existence. I simply felt the need to inform you of this.

I am available if you wish to explore this symbolism further.

    Yours truly and humbly,

    Robert of Norwick
    Symbologist to Deneir

Pauses for a moment thinking when was the last time he got anyone into trouble and of all the mishaps and dangers others have brought.

  • Fadien is seen standing to the left of her brother Sy'wyn, speaking softly in elvish to him, her bow in her hand.

I know not how much help I can be brother, but this is our second family and we must protect them. You have my support always. Ask anything of me and I will obey…and so will Bow, I will make sure of it. I will seek out the rest of the of Our family and discuss this with them.

Slipping away as silently as she can, she steps in the shadows seeking out Bow, Alvar and the rest of the Blackwood clan.

  • Penny nods sternly when she hears Elrin's request for aid.

"I'd be 'appy ta do what I kin do ta 'elp, darlin'…"

  • _Some of the more well-known Gali such as Cotton, Kaona, Arandor, Klaz, and Sy have been seen and heard moving about camp, asking for help from their fellow Gali. They speak of attempting to seek out the spirit of the High Priest Ashkali, to find the answers so desperately needed….

The five Gali stress the importance of this matter greatly, and strongly urge all other Gali to help in any way possible. They tell everyone that they will meet with the spirit in a few days time... ((this coming sunday, 11pm est))The elder camp members watch and listen closely to the Gali's response to this request for help..._
