The Smiling Man -

  • The children gather and whisper....It has been more than 5 years since the Smiling man has moved among them...but word is out and they gather in the old haunts. Children of the docks, children of the farms, children of the residential and commerce. He meets with them in ones and twos or threes and calls on old ties. The older children remember and hush the young ones.
As in the past, the payment is as the desires of those he meets with, clothing for the ragged, food for the hungry and healing for the sick...
And as he gathers, the old rules come back. No one tells, no one speaks of him. He offers aid and payment and they are sent out. Eyes and ears inside and outside the walls. Mostly ignored, or overlooked as they move through their days. The task is simple. Report anything out of the usual day. Movement of troops or strange people, carts and horses, gatherings where they are not usual, crates and goods beyond the normal smuggling practices.
The usual signals are set, a bit of colored cloth here, a set of stones or twigs there, and emergency summons.

Then the masked smiling man dissappears into the alleys.

  • //I used this several times in the Farscouts, but it never went anywhere. So use or ignore as you need.
