S.O.S. Pamphlets 2

  • [Yet again, in every district, many insignias on tattered cloth are found bearing a black and red symbol of a circle, punctured by a smaller red circle. The insignias are wearable by any who dare don them.]

[Fastened to the insignias by way of punctured cloth are pamphlets, which read as follows.]

    Peltarchian Souls,

We have seen the faces of dying children, served the rotten spoils of a blind King and his reckless subordinates. Subordinates who are willing to beat, Gaol, and kill any who dare breath a doubt the King's care or competence. Who dare think a thought for themselves. Who dare to call themselves Peltarchian citizens, rather than royal subjects.

Peltarch's salvation is the Senate, and we are its children. Our blood runs as red as one another's. Ours as his, as hers, as theirs. We all bleed the same, for we are all equal and free. When the time comes, the royal family will bleed in turn.

The dawn of Peltarch rises, and the night of royalty ends. Wait for the call.

While taking breaks from her research, Lauriella picks up one of the pamphlets. She shakes her head exclaiming, "I know the people are in need but this goes against everything I believe! Revolution is never the answer."

She stuffs the pamphlet in her robes and goes back to the library conflicted about the needs of society and the needs of the individual.
