Under the night sky, we dream. We see nothing but darkness, but do we see what is actually there? Or was it just a dream? Can dreams be manifested into reality? Can dreams actually… happen?
A cold sweat drips from Syrano's forehead. He runs quickly through the camp as a Bugbear tears through it behind him. Dozens of thoughts were racing through his head, but the only thought he could bear to show was how agility would get him out this mess. Not paying attention, a fallen tree branch finds it's way under Syrano's feet, and he falls face down in the soggy forest ground; filling his mouth with dirt. The Bugbear pounces on his back and literally shreds his body to pieces.
Darkness...
Syrano's eyes open quickly, and stare blankly toward the canopies, only to see a shrouded glimpse of the stars. He looked around at the camp. Everything was in the exact place in his dream. Not a leaf blown about. Not a rock overturned. He could even smell his own persperation; the same as in his dream. He soon realized there was but one thing missing: The Bugbear. Looking alive, he stands at attention, quite alert for just awakening. A dismissive hand wipes the sweat from his forehead. He knew... it was just a dream.
Hailing from the forests nearby the Gypsy Camp, Syrano had a good life. He was brought up well by his parents and taught good Elven morals; always to respect nature; even his name presents this. After near a century of living in the forests, Syrano decided that his presence would be well guided and appreciated elsewhere. A short farewell later, he was granted citizenship to the town of Norwick where he knew that some kind of adventure had to be bustling. Although still an Elf of guiding principle, he wished so much that he could be a part of civilized society. So much that he would leave his home in the forest, and move to an alien region where he knew many of his kind would not be. Although occasionally he does go back to the forests for the kindness of the other Elves and Gypsies, he will have to learn to appreciate civilization outside of the forest, for he knows that is where his real adventure will begin.
