Voice of the People

  • After a supposed orcish emissary approached the Jewel of the Icelace and was hideously murdered in cold blood by a band of marauding elves, the commonfolk of Peltarch feared for their lives. The orcish treaty having recently been signed, and war narrowly avoided so many times before, these common, decent folk of the Jewel had been enjoying a well deserved rest from the threat of orcs. Rumors abounded of murderous elves trying to start a war to undermine the city, city guardsmen and defenders alike promoting the use of lethal crowd control techniques from ADVENTURERS, and a city official declaring it legal to hunt down and kill any orcish emissaries. Scared, hurt, and furious, the commoners formed an angry mob, making their grievances and feelings known to an unlistening government. That is, until Lady Kathea of Sharess took over.

Lady Kathea rallied the commoners under her banner, the banner of understanding and compassion. She took to the rant stand and convinced the angry mob to calm themselves and allow her to present their problems for them as the Voice of the People. The untamed mob immediately took to her powerful words as she appealed to them logically and emotionally. At the end of her rousing speech, the deafening cheers of support Lady Kathea received from the mob all but secured her position as the Voice of the People.

  • After a large party where everyone in the city was invited to free food and drinks at the Ferret, the next couple days Kathea is seen buzzing about the city. She gives small speeches similar to the one she had before, and then gathering the written support of the common folk.

A few days later and a big stack of parchment later, Kat is seen headed to the City Hall to officially submit her petition to be Voice of the People.
