Nathen Wingates - "Nate."
Current Age: ???
Nate carries himself with a demeanor that is usually cheerful, a little lazy, and subject to whimsy. His eyes are gleaming orbs that appear to dance and play with whatever person or object has caught his attention. Speaking of his attention, it appears to be often lacking or easily distracted; sometimes, he is known to drift off and daydream or perhaps become lost in thought only to apologetically snap back to attention sometime later. He is most comfortable in some sort of city-oriented social setting: an academy, a noble gathering, an aristocratic soiree, or a political discussion. He almost always minds his manners and is known to be deferential and polite, especially when dealing with city officials, with whom he talks to in an experienced and comfortable manner. He appears less at ease when venturing out of the city towards danger and adventure, and often relies on whoever he travels with for protection and escort. When forced to fight in large scale combat, he has a mage's posture: hands at the ready to cast. If caught in a melee, he often ducks and avoids fighting. In a single combat situation, he assumes a duelist's posture. When alone, and when he thinks no one is looking, his demeanor changes to a more somber, pensive, and quiet one.
The bard appears fairly youthful; he does not seem older than his late twenties or early thirties. One immediately notices the brightly glowing orange and auburn hair atop his head. Many of the strands often linger in front of his gleaming green-blue eyes. There are faint traces of elvish heritage visible on his face: his ears have a very slight point at their tips, and his eyes have a very slight angle to them. Otherwise, his facial features and the rest of his person is a normal well-rounded human shape. His body, although not intimidating, is very well toned and muscled. He does possess a certain physical grace, which is almost unnoticeable, although it is usually compromised by the equipment he wears.
His most distinctive piece of equipment is the long and flashy cloak he wears. The thing tends to change colors, and its most recent incarnation is a mixture of purple and gold. It is almost certainly eye-catching, and contains many pockets, but Nate may sometimes trip on it due to its long length. The cloak is collared and he tends to wear it up to conceal the majority of his neck.
Another distinctive piece of equipment is the Morningstar he carries. It is made of mithral, and those familiar with Master Craftsman Z can recognize his handywork. The hilt is shaped into the form of a lion. The handle is black, and the chain tether leading to the head is a mithral gray. The head itself is shaped like the sun, and is also mithral, but is colored golden by the fiery and divine magic within.
In addition, he tends to have a dark red ring on, coloured the shade of autumn. Besides that, he wears city clothes (which are often a mixture of white, blue, black, and other colours). He wears an amulet with a golden trim and a black, obsidian centerpiece. At times, he is seen wearing a mithral chain shirt that is a pale gray. He tends to carry a set of old birdpipes that dangle from a loose leather bind fastened to his belt, as well as a mandolin that he keeps looped around a belt over his shoulder. Otherwise, he carries a one-handed flail and a well kept wooden shield. He also carries several minor magical bags which he has either slung over his shoulder or also fastened to his belt.
