Refugee Camp on the Long Road

  • _Several days after the reported fall of the Silver Valley, General Theaon and a woman in Peltarch Defender colors known as Adelie were seen leading several hin refugees from the south onto the Long Road between the Troff Legion Hall and the Kelemvorite Temple.

For the next few hours the hins are seen setting up their camp with fires and tents. Rasuil and Elaine later arrive and offer aid. After the tents are set up some of the hin cry in agony, still hurt by the loss of their home. After comforting the hin, General Theaon makes his way to the Kelemvorite Temple.

Soon afterwards comes out of the Temple and speaks with some of the Valley guards as if he is pointing out some directions. Later on the general orders Legion troops to be on guard near the entrance to the Nars Pass. Kelemvorite Paladins can be seen heading east to stand guard near the edge of the Scar._

  • The smallfolk on the Long Road, at least those whose eyes might have been turned towards the Bluff at the time, bore witness to a strange phenomenon: a reedy, white-winged figure atop one of the stone sphinxes, hurtling impossibly high up into the air repeatedly and fluttering down again. Perhaps it was a celestial, but what on earth was it doing jumping up and down for no apparant reason? And going "WHEEEE!"

  • General Theaon of the Troff Legion seems to be spending more time around the refugee camp, looking to be on guard as if something bad might happen. Though it may not have anything to do with the recent Garagossian attack on the Heroes Bluff. The night before Theaon was seen spotted near the edge of the Scar talking to what from a distance looks like nothing. The giggling of what might have sounded like a young girl was heard.

  • And as for what the refugees are mourning? It seems Narfell's least favourite Garagossans payed the Long Road a visit, leaving a hin and a gnome cut down in their wake before some adventurers put a stop to the slaughter.

  • Legion

A hooded hin exits the Legion tower, and after quietly making her way among the mourning refugees heads out toward Jyyd, casts a camouflage spell upon herself and disappears into the night.

  • *After a successful hunt, Z heads out to the camp and hosts a barbecue for the Silver Valley refugees.

He hands out hearty slices meat to all who want it, and puts the rest in the food storage bin for those who might want some later.*

  • _Negotiations for the Long Road were seen taking place at night on the Crossroads, with Rasuil speaking for the white dragon Ky. The delegation that came from the Troff Legion Hall consisted of General Theaon, Sergeant Ragnar, Raryldor, Salin, and the dwarf Valgrimm. Standing behind Rasuil was Artemis. Peltarch Magistrate Shannon was also there, but he spent much of the time sitting by a tree near the Crossroads. The meeting seemed to be arbitrated by a woman some may know as Nuriwah. Thander of the Kelemvorite Temple later joined the meeting.

Much of the meeting at first went back and forth with no real compromise in sight. General Theaon tried to argue that the demands should be what the original ransom was, but Rasuil insisted otherwise. As the night wore on with little common ground being found, Shannon very suddenly, and perhaps impulsively, dropped a large amount of gold near the feet of Rasuil. Shortly thereafter Salin dropped a slightly less amount of gold near Rasuil. Theaon seemed none to pleased with this as it was happening.

Soon after the gold was placed at Rasuil's feet, he made a loud noise of some sort. The white dragon Ky flew down and turned into humanoid form. After another short conversation, Ky looked as if he accepted the terms and signed the treaty presented to him by Nuriwah. Thander then followed. Nuriwah then took the treaty to Theaon, who seemed to hesitate while reading over the document. Theaon did eventually sign, but looked reluctant to do so.

After the treaty was signed the group began to disperse. Rasuil jump onto Ky's back and headed back towards the Coldstone Mountains. Theaon, Ragnar, Raryldor, and Valgrimm returned to the Legion Hall. It would certainly seem something was indeed agreed upon, but at what cost, and what could the ramifications be?_

  • for a few days after the display of the army and the argument between the legion and wolf leaders the pale skinned woman Chaevre' has been spotted on a few occasions, sometimes alone sometimes with company, standing on the edge of the scar looking down and across at a very large corpse in the water frozen in ice just below the surface. What her facination with the two story tall dead spider demon is I'd anyone's guess

  • _Terror erupts within the camp!

Hushed talks and private negotiations would keep the small folk at ease in the comfort of ignorance no longer. A discussion between General Theaon and a pale tallie went sour in a heartbeat, causing the strange figure to turn violently on the hin. As the General was mauled savagely, the figure transformed within its rage into a towering white dragon, swatting away those who rushed to Theaons aid like insects, including their leader Circini. While it left after the display without claiming a single life, the damage to the small folks morale is palpable.

Across the Scar, the sound of horns carried on the wind as the forces collected; Thousands upon thousands of snow goblins poured forth and turned the landscape into a writhing mass. Orc tribes and frost giant steps shook the earth as they joined the throng. Fiendish tanarukk and chittering chilblain wove themselves into the scene as the horde of goblins continued to grow around them, seemingly without end. Eventually, the white dragon itself returned amid the masses, crushing several goblins beneath it's form as it landed, bellowing it's demand powerfully across the divide.

Now no secret to any of the Bluff, the intruding refugees who had claimed the dragons land would suffer a ten thousand gold tithe within a tenday to resume negotiations, or suffer the consequences.

Heated words were thrown to the back of the old ranger, Rasuil, who stood to witness the spectacle at the western edge of the Scar. While contention was heard that it was the Generals own actions that had set the stage by aiding the massive shivhad that raided the campsite earlier, popular opinion rests with the small folk that it was the Wolfs words that condemned the people. With cries of 'traitor' and 'monster' ringing out across the field, the ground shook one last time as a few gestures from the Hin General caused a localized earthquake, crumbling the cliff beneath the rangers feet and sending him plunging into the frigid depths below.

On swift wings, the white dragon lunged from it's opposing perch, driving itself into the waters and collecting the doomed figure within it's jaws before returning to the eastern banks. Care could be seen depositing his catch at his side, turning and roaring it's disapproval across the divide as a sign from the wyrm turned the massive army back on its slow return towards the Coldstones once more._

  • _Shortly after Rasuil could be seen leaving the camp, a powerful roar echos out from the west, shivering the trees and unsettling all within earshot. No threats make themselves known however, and the night passes without further occurrence.

Nearly a full day afterward, the ranger can be seen returning to the camp, sharing a few quiet words with Circini before leading her off to the eastern ridge of the Scar. There the pair speak privately for a short time, the old Wolfs expression remaining sympathetic and calm while Circini seems visibly agitated and at one point even heated.

Breaking from their talk, the armored Hin returns to the campsite noticeably irritated and stressed, wiping both hands down a long face, while the ranger remains a time upon the Scars ridge, staring distantly towards the east._
