Magical training

  • Eilonna is seen at the Evac camp at the Temple of Kelemvor writing on a blank page while holding a book carefully in the other, she would appear to be writing a summary to be handing in to Salin.

    Magic Weapon

Magic weapon is a 1st circle Transmutation spell, it is also a on touch spell meaning you must be able to come into physical contact with the weapon being enchanted this way. The effect is generally the weapon is considered blessed and does a bit more damage to creatures struck by it. It generally lasts one minute and gets stronger as your skill grows stronger. The components of the spell are Verbal meaning it must be spoken, Somatic meaning precise hand gestures and movement, Focus which is of course an obvious one and Divine Focus meaning a divine symbol of significance or in the case of evil an unholy symbol.

    True Strike

True strike is a 1st circle Divine spell, it is also a personal spell meaning that the spell will only effect the caster. It increases your insight in battle for a single attack and counters any chance of missing a concealed opponent. The components for this spell are both Verbal and Focus.

  • The hand writing is slower and much calmer then the last entry

I have been spending much time with my husband discussing the properties of enchanting magics, since he does a lot of enchantments. The process is possible yet will be difficult to learn but he is a good teacher and very patient with me. He has advised me how to continue my studies and some books that I will need to look at to benefit my training, he has one I need to get from him yet.

  • The writing is fast and clearly hyper as if written in a flush of emotion.

Today I achieved my goal!! I managed to actually pull off casting a Magic Weapon spell on Elessars staff, and after that I managed a Light spell, took me two tries for that one but still, I pulled it off! Two years of practice has finally paid off in my magic studies. I am focusing on enchantment as that is what is required to imbue magic into arrows. Elessar has offered a book he has in storage for me to study and in the meantime I intend to try and practice casting into my arrows and see how it works. Many tests too be done now. To say I am excited is a major understatement!

  • Dear Journal,

I have arrived back in Peltarch and met with Salin and given him my paperwork but have not really had the chance to sit down and talk with him regarding my studies so have been continuing them on my own at the moment. I have been focusing on pronunciation of the words of spells and hand movements and gestures when casting to perfect the art. This has been a very slow and tedious process but I must admit it is one that I am enjoying. I can feel the magic with the words when I get it right but the moment I misspeak the words I can feel the spell fizzle. I find myself curious how one might imbue magic into an arrow yet I am sure more will become clear to me the more I study.

  • A journal found on Eilonnas desk in the Legion Tower sits closed and bound by a clasped latch, it appears worn and dirty yet well taken care of over the years. Inside would be her previous magical studies and the studies she has done since then to encourage the growth she tried to have done

    Dear Journal,

While I haven't seen Salin for a long time since heading back to check on my children, I haven't stopped my studies. He would be sorely disappointed in me if I did that to him and had wasted his time. I picked up a book of magic for beginners at the shop before leaving and began studying it and trying to learn to pronounce the words. This proved difficult during the boat ride while having no one to teach me. While chanting the words I can feel the beginning of the power brewing within me like I do my ranger spells, but I cannot yet draw the spells to full power. It fizzles and honestly leaves me very drained after trying to cast. Not that I really expected otherwise. While with my sons I began asking around the locals of the area if any had heard of spells that could be imbued into arrows and was delighted to hear it was completely possible, but that it was a rare and dangerous magic. One that would require strong devotion and long studies into magic and the combination of the spell and the arrow. Sadly no one around had seen anyone that could do such in many years. So I was not likely to find anyone there. During my time there I continued focusing mostly on learning to speak the verbal components of the spells. I am hoping to impress Salin when I get the chance to sit down with him again and read out a spell properly, with or without the other components. For now I must stop writing and go pray, my boys need me and I cannot afford to be distracted at the moment.

    Eilonna.

  • As night turns into day she is seen speaking with Salin, discussing her homework and her summaries on the spells. She nods as he assigns her next tasks and waves as he takes his leave. As the sun sets she takes her stand watching both the East and the West now much more carefully. By the coming dawn she steps down and moves to the covered tents pulling out several books looking up the spells assigned as homework. Reading the books several times in regards to those spells she pulls out a quill and paper and begins to write her next summary.

    Flame Arrow

Flame arrow is a Transmutation spell of the third circle. Its effect is to add fire to a weapon temporarily to aid with doing damage. The effected area is close ranged covering 25 ft but can be extended with hard training. The average duration is about ten minutes but again this can be extended with hard training in the arcane studies. It will effect fifty projectile weapons as long as they are all touching at the time of casting. The components of the spell are Verbal, Somatic and Material. The material components for this spell are a drop of oil and a small piece of flint.

    Flame Weapon

Flame weapon is a Evocation spell of the second circle. Its effect is to set a melee weapon ablaze. This is a touch spell meaning that the caster must be in direct contact with the melee weapon it is being casted upon. This spell can be cast on some creatures such as animal effecting their claws or teeth. This is not guaranteed for all animals. The duration of said spell is about two minutes but can be trained to be stronger with time and effort put into it. The components for this spell are Verbal and Somatic.
