Fire In the Residential District
-
The Filtan Family Estate has burned down, and, pending investigation, presumably with the entire family inside. Rumors abound that the family was dead long before the fire started, but Guard Captain Garand urges people not to jump to conclusions, but that no scenario has been ruled out.

Vera is seen around town, idly chatting with the hinnish community about the happenings, asking their opinions on the family and if there are any other distant relatives in the area.

_Not even three full days after the fire at the Filtan Estate, the League of Guilds puts the Harvest Union's food import/export license up for auction.
Valued at 45,000 gold, three men emerge as leaders in the bidding: Jahn Reshor, a pale man named Baldwin, and a man with a Cormyrian accent named Rochefort Delacroix. Senator Enenan Snydders and Chadwick Whyte seem unconcerned with the Seafarer's interests in this matter - but it is easy to note that the Seafarer's business practices have long since become less aggressive since the departure of Vaster Ashald.
Reshor first bids 50,000 but is immediately trumped by Baldwin at 60,000. Following a 75,000 gold bid by Rochefort, a bidding war ensues between the two as Reshor drops out. Finally, Rochefort tops Baldwin's final bit of 120,000 with an offer of 130,000 - and it seems like Baldwin is unable to go any higher.
The only food import/export license outside of the Seafarer's grasp - and the only over-land license in Peltarch - has been sold._

Gnomish bard Vera C. Tingle is also at the scene, listening to the conversation, while cheering the workers on with her songs and helping remove the debris as best as her tiny frame allows.
-
The dwarven engeneer, Fafir Ganeer, is seem around what's left of the Filtan Family State. He tries to make small talk with some folks about the Family history while following the autorities work to remove the debris.

Cerulean mother and son team Lycka and Jonni can be seen near the smouldering remains of the estate afterwards, speaking to some of the many volunteer firefighters.
