Ting E'leftynen

  • ((Outdated. See Below.))
    Name:
    Ting E'leftynen

    Residence:
    Peltarch

    Appearance:
    -Grey-skinned elf
-Generally keeps her black hair cut short to stay out of the way or keeps it pulled back
-Whenever she wears clothes without sleves or long legs her immense ammount of tatooes are always visible
-Her weapons, while not intimidating by sheer size, are almost always worn visible

    Quirks:
-Carries a useless ammount of daggers, pen-knifes, ropes, and other odd things always around with her "just-in-case"
    -Obsessed with explosives
-She doesn't take well to being made fun of but usually plays it off with attempted witty retorts.

    Goals:
-She eventually hopes to use her bardic training combined with her skills as a rogue to be counted among the rare shadowdancers

    Recent History:
Ting has changed quite a bit since she came to Narfell. To anyone who doesn't know her and even some that do, she always stays mysterious and puzzling. She never walks on the path when she can be creeping in the grass beside it, she never will talk when she can get away with pretending she is still mute, and she never lets anyone know what she's up to. If anyone is drawn to the smell of money, this is definately your elf.
She has taken up a strage obsession with the color purple among her clothes. On one side, it is difficult to see in any sort of dark situation, and on the other hand it looks regal and distinguishes her from others quite effectively.
She has brought herself up in the black market in the tow of her guild, but when the guild fell she found herself out in the ocean with the big fish without much help. She did not last too long and only survived because of the friends she had with lots of money or being a powerful cleric.
However, finding new motivation out of sheer willpower, she grabbed the remenants of the guild and is trying to bring it back into prominence with new resolve and intent to not let anything, even former friends, get in her path to success.
Not having bound herself to any one god she never had any sort of devine favor and ran herself along on wit and knowledge alone, however she has a large downfall when it comes to judgement, she has trouble seeing when she's wrong, and a firey temper when given even the slightest provocation.
Her time in the bardic college has brought her access to myriads of books filled with information that she never would have found otherwise and an education in entertaining which she uses quite effectively to get her way. Having read about the shadowdancers, she strives to eventually be counted among their numbers even though she knows that her chances of accomplishing such a goal are very low.

  • ((Update with new information))

    Name:
    (Known) Ting E'leftynen
    (Given) Tiain Aleaeplith'Amtar

    Residence:
    Oscura

    Appearance:

    • Short, gray-skinned elf with black hair always cropped very short (especially for a female elf)
-She has a series of tattoo designs all over her body that flow from one to the next smoothly but with a chaotic disorder to the themes. Recently she added a patterned tattoo design over half of her face.
-She always carries an enchanted rapier at her side and master quality shield and bow. She also carries a variety of other weapons in her belt and a belt attachment for potion and scroll access but those vary depending on where she is or where she is going.
-She has a pair of ancient enchanted bracers permanently affixed to her forearms.
-Dresses extravagantly, almost always wearing very fancy gloves that come up to her bracers.

–The rest is purely OOC info to be referenced to avoid future problems of spontaneity--

Quirks (this is to be referenced to avoid further confusion with DM's so it does not seem like I'm coming up with this stuff on the spot) :
–Her giant key ring bears many keys that has all distinguishing features (that are not actually required to open the lock) ground flat and non sequential numbers etched on the sides. All information about the keys is recorded in her "black books".
--Almost every pair of gloves she wears has small hidden slide-ins for her standard lock picking equipment or trap-disarming supplies.
--Like any good rogue that has to smuggle something from time to time, most of her bags and boxes have fake pockets or false bottoms to hide small things. (usually she just keeps gold there)

    Goals:
-She at one point wished to become shadowdancer but the lack of shadowdancers in Narfell that would be willing to help her has put her off of this dream
-She has always wanted her very own labyrinth to trap random adventurers in for sport and watch them try to get out as she loves that sort of puzzle.
-She wishes at some point to build herself a tower because "they are impressive" as she would put it.

(the second two goals were openly voiced as Ting she has not made mention of either since her "revealing". One could assume her nature has not changed so much as to have destroyed those goals but this is purely speculation at this point)

    The Black Books:
In her history she has owned four "black books"

The first two were lost in two accidents with particularly violent deaths and were never recovered. They are presumed to still be in existence assuming nature hasn't destroyed them.

The third black book was just like the first two but only records history and important information up to the point where she stopped living under the name Ting.

The fourth "black book" is actually a combination of two books, a bright blue book, and a dark red book. They are just the same as her black books but the information is split into two so information cannot be accurately retrieved from one without the other.

She uses the black books to record just about everything she deems important because she does not trust herself to remember it all given her history.

She uses Dambrathan alphabetical organization to store reference numbers on where information is stored.

All numbers are elven as well as descriptions of people that she uses in place of actual names.

All information about people is divided into sections throughout the book using no pattern but requiring reference numbers to find all parts of the information and written in hinnish.

All buisness dealings uses the Peltarchan standard thieves cant slang (all of it's little nuances that are common in Peltarch) and is divided similarly to information about people.

Each page may contain several sections of information about different things but only at random will it contain more than one section of information about a particular event/occurrence/dealing.

Even if someone were to figure out her system it would take an extraordinary amount of time to extract relevant information that they were looking for.

    She's paranoid? Maybe just a little…
