_Somewhere in the deserts of Anauroch a boy was born, a Bedine. Living with his family, traders of trade, he got to learn and see many parts of the region. One would say it was all sand, but within the sand lie so many mysteries of old empires.
When he was 16 his father allowed him to be one of the guards of the caravan they used to travel from place to place, and Rahad was taught to fight against bandits. But he was not like the other guards, and not only beacuse he was the son of the merchant they all worked for. He had differnt skills, not just the fighting. He could detect an ambush long before it would've happened, and no one else knew his way through the sands like he did.

For a long time, the sucess of his father was all due to his skill to avoid bandits and sand creatures. 5 years without a single assault to the caravan made for all the traders and merchants to want to have deals with Rahad's father, as it was nearly a guarantee that the goods would arrive to their destination. Some more powerful and rich merchants tried to hire the boy's skills for their own caravans, but Rahad had no interest in this, as he would only part from his father when his father stopped the business. However, this was not taken well by some powerfull merchants, that started to notice bandits frequented their caravans more often knowing they were easier targets, and the tension grew between those merchants and Rahad's father. Merchants started to be really bothersome to Rahad's father, even sending assassins after the family members.

One day, Rahad's father decided that he could risk his own life, but not his family, and so decided to stop the business, knowing that this way Rahad would be free and the other merchants wouldnt bother his family anymore. Knowing this, Rahad packed his things and decided he'd leave the next day. Things didn't go as planned though, and that same night Rahad woke up with his mother's screams and the sound of fire burning through the caravan. Everything was on fire, every single piece of goods, every inch of the caravan, the supplies, the horses were gone, and 2 of the other 3 guards were lying on the sand, dead and bloodied.
The 3rd guard was surrounded by 2 bandits, but they were no fighting, they were speaking… and Rahad quickly understood they had been betrayed. With his two-sided sword he charged against the traitor and the bandits, carelessly of the numbers, and fought them to death. He took several injuries, serious ones, but he managed to kill the three of them. He looked desperatedly for his parents, but to no avail, they were gone, and he was too confused, wounded and dehidratated by the fire to find any useful tracks in all that mess.

Rahad's injuries were only getting worse, and so he limped away from the caravan that was still on fire, if he was the target, he should be leaving fast. He walked for hours, wounded, and soon realized he had no water with him, not even a bit, and it sure as hell was not going to be easy to find water in the desert. After a couple hours, he was already crawling, trying to keep moving, for he knew falling asleep or fainting there would mean certain death.

Claina. She just... appeared there, out of nowhere. She had no water, but she had something useful. She had divination powers, and with those she located water, a small oasis in the middle of the desert. Rahad didn't want to believe the woman, but what other chance did he have? helped by her to walk, they both walked for a bit more until they reached the oasis.
He drank like crazy. Then fainted.

Ever since then, Rahad's been Claina's protector. Man of few words (if any at all) he stands beside her and accompanies her wherever she goes, which apparently this time... it means the region of Narfell._
