A Bard's Book of Poetry and Song

  • Vampire and the Succubus

There once was a vampire named Thune…
Who took a succubus up to his room...
    They stayed up all night...
    Having a terrible fight...
Over who would suck what from whom!

  • Darkness

    a creeking noise
    stirred the house.
    the cat looked up
    from his mouse.

    the darkness grew
    to a hue so deep,
    even the dog
    awoke from sleep.

    a cold wind blew
    from an open window,
    and made the man shiver
    from head to toe.

    he awoke with a start,
    along with his wife,
    from a horrible dream
    of some terrible strife.

    he shuddered, sat up,
    got out of bed.
    a lcandle was lit,
    the darkness fled.

  • The Copper Scop

Of all the sad stories that were ever told
The saddest of all centers 'round gold
How it turns the sweetest love into hate
and has delivered many souls to an untimely fate

Each coin burns with its own inner fire
As if the flames of the abyss sparked man's desire
To hoard it up and guard it with his life
At the cost of his servants, friends, and wife

And then go off a conquerin' for more
To pile it up deep behind a locked door
But even this falls short of hte price to pay
For death comes swiftly and takes it all away

That's why, good people, I choose the life of a scop
Telling stories in each town, singing at each stop
I have less gold than a stone golem has fleas
But I ask not for gold, just some coppers….please?

  • Hero's Struggle

Slowly through the field I walk,
The creeping hand of Death doth stalk…
The smell of battle doth fill my nose,
The blood of the enemy stains my clothes.

Quickly through the field I run,
All my fears I must shun.
My hunger for adventure I swiftly fed,
No time to think, I may soon be dead.

Amidst teh struggle and toil of war,
With my fight Victory shall open her door.
I strive with all mine strength to reach that hill,
Yet the struggle becomes harder still.

    The glory of battle shines,
Through the souls of soldiers mine.
    Over this soil so cherished,
I soon was struck, and perished.

I have fought for the surfs, the lords alike,
For their defense I was ready to strike.
I tried my utmost to prevent defeat,
But now I am wrapped in blood-drenched sheets.

I have fought the hero's battle,
    Died the hero's death.

I have fought, battled, stood by,
Until death I kept the banner high.
Motionless in the field I lay,
For centuries here I shall stay.
For my people I hath given my life,
And lost it in this glorious strife.

  • A Winter's Night

Hear me on this winters night.
And warm me with your love.
Dance for me in pale light.
    As graceful as a dove.

For we have never been apart.
On a night as cold as this.
I wish I could feel your beating heart.
    And your loving kiss.

But no longer you are here my sweet.
To warm me on this night.
You were taken on wintered street.
Damn the gods for this their plight!

Alas my love I miss you so.
Why oh why, did you have to go?

  • By The Sword

I live by the sword, because the sword is my kin…
I kill by the sword, because the sword is my sin...
I save by the sword, because the sword is my commander...
I die by the sword, because the sword is my candor...
I flee by the sword, because the sword is my fears...
And I cry by the sword, because the sword is my tears...
