    3. Celia
    4. Reynauld
    5. Victoria
    6. Andrew Brightdawn

    8. Ashena

  • Dermin would be glad to participate as many friends are in the contest.

((However at this point I still don't know if I'm going to be free in RL to make it on time))

  • The schedule looks favorable, Rey should make it.

  • Council of Moradin

Gnarl eyes the list, strokes his beard, and has another sip of ale. After that, he considers the choices, and wonders how he would do against some of those others in the arkane and mundane contests. So, even though there is not serious blood letting, he decides to add his name to the list. He is glad there is not a horseback event!

  • Dev

Lence reads the postings… grins and scratches his mark.

"Beat on some poor bugger who doesn't know whats coming to them? Sign me up!"

  • Vick eases out of the dark alley eyes the sheet as if it might bite him then Quickly jots his name down and dissapears into the dock district

  • While Ashena is nowhere to be found of late, a tawny cat slinks by on his nightly (or knightly?) quest for furry conquest. Bob gives the poster a look of catty disinterest, until a gust of wind sends it fluttering. Pounce!

((Ashena will be back by the weekend, most likely!))

  • @6427b72d47=Mooncandies:

    (Is Dwarven Waraxe allowed?)

// If you're a hin, that's technically a Great Axe. Just bring a mundane one. Added Katana and Bastard Sword too, I forgot to look in exotic weapons category when making the list.

  • [Hope quietly signs herself up for Lanceboard]

  • (Is Dwarven Waraxe allowed?)

  • Andrews reads carefully the poster, then signs up in all disciplines

  • //Updated my post with more info about the competitions. As host, Shallyah will not be partaking in the competitions herself, so I hope to see a lot others to have some interesting games and fun.

  • // Stupid timezone differences. I won't be there, cos it's at 4am in the middle of winter and I live somewhere that it snows now. Too cold out of bed for this bunny >_<

  • Legion

    should be there with vic.

  • ((ooc celia and rey is away atm visiting his parents but celia will definately be there and prolly rey too as he talks about how he misses this so much))

  • María signs her name with funny looking letters

  • ::Shallyah takes a look over the poster and walks off towards the college, muttering something about bards. Shallyah returns a while later and attaches a new poster to the old one, this one written in much less flourish tone::

    //OOC Rules explained –-

    Event #1 - Lanceboard

Wisdom+Intellect scores of the PC are summed and added a d10 roll. Each match has 6 rounds (each representing 10 minutes of each player's time). Scores of each round are summed up.

A player wins when her score is 30 points higher than her opponent after both players have already played the current round (Victory by Checkmate). If both players spend their 6 rounds and never manage to get an edge of 30 points over their opponent, wins the player with higher score (Victory by Points). If both players have exactly the same score after all 6 rounds, they play an additional round to decide the winner.

    Example:

Player A has Intellect score of 19 and Wisdom score of 14 = +33 modifier.
Player B has Intellect score of 8 and Wisdom score 12 = +20 modifier.

    Round 1:
    Player A rolls d10, gets 9. 7+33 = 40 for round 1.
    Player B rolls d10, gets 8. 8+20 = 28 for round 1.
Player A leads first round by 12 points and is getting an edge on her opponent.

    Round 2:
Player A rolls d10, gets 6. 6+33 = 39. 39+40 = 79. (At this point Player A would be beyond the 30 point diference, but player B hasn't played this round yet, so it isn't counted yet.)
    Player B rolls d10, gets 3. 3+20 = 23. 23+28 = 51.
Player A leads second round by 28 points and opened the gap, now leads her opponent by a few pieces.

    Round 3:
    Player A rolls d10, gets 4. 4+33 = 37. 37+79 = 116
    Player B rolls d10, gets 10. 10+20 = 30. 30+51 = 81.
Player A leads by 35 points and she has delivered a Checkmate.

    Event #2 - Fencing

Initiative rolls determine who can lunge (usually a Dexterity check, if a character has Improved Initiative feat, then add+4 to the roll). The fencer with initiative must make a touch attack roll against DC 12+defender's dodge Armor Class (Dexterity modifier, Tumble AC and Dodge feat are valid modifiers for this)

The opponent can choose two ways to react to the lunge:

    1. Parry - The fencer defends herself from the lunge with any skills she has. This allows the defending player to choose either adding her parry score to her touch AC (even if she has 0 ranks in it, Dex modifier is still counted again when parrying) or using expertise/improved expertise (add 5/10 to the touch AC). However, using Parry, Expertise or Improved Expertise grants 1 Lost Ground counter. If a fencer reaches 3 Lost Ground counters in a single round, she's taken too defensive attitude and was pushed out of the ring, awarding the opponent 1 point. Fencers using Parry (but not Expertise or Improved Expertise) get a Riposte attack if their AC score beats the opponent's touch attack by 10 points or more. The opponent can not Parry or Counter-lunge the Riposte attack.

    2. Counter-lunge - The fencer attempts to take advantage of the opponent's lunge to find an opening in her defenses and score a point. This means she can also roll to hit the opponent's AC at the same time as the opponent is attacking. As the opponent is mid-lunge, she can not choose to parry or expertise the counter-lunge. If only one of the fencers hits the opponent, that fencer gets one point. If both fencers hit each other, Right-of-Way rule comes into effect, and the point is granted to the fencer that began the lunge movement first (that being the one that won the initiative roll)

If a full lunge+reaction round is completed and nobody resulted hit, a new initiative roll takes place to determine who gets to lunge next round. Note that the defending fencer never gets to initiate a lunge. To initiate a lunge, the fencer must win an initiative roll.

Summing up, these are the ways to score one point:

    a) Initiate a lunge, and hit the opponent's AC.
    b) Counter-lunge an opponent-initiated lunge and hit her AC while she does not hit yours.
    c) Parry an opponent-initiated lunge and beat her attack roll by 10+, then hit her AC with a Riposte attack.
    d) Push the opponent out of the piste by forcing her to stack 3 Lost Ground counters without hits in either side.

First to score 3 points wins.

Event #3 - Noble Arms Dueling

Not many OOC notes here. Use only mundane armors and weapons from that list, no buffs, no magic items, just fight and have fun. 🙂

I'll try to get the DM to spawn chests with all the mundane gears to use during the events for players that don't have their own. No stealing please!
