Near the collapsed Hold entrance

  • Upon reading the note about the hold, María makes her way there and stands, leaning on her staff

So then, whewre do we need the most powewrful and less delicated wowrk?
Gwreatewr Elementals awre twrue bwrutes, but they awre fawr fwrom delicated.

((i made this to not clutter the "Notes" thread, I'd advice others to do the same under this post.

  • Stones breaking and crumbling can be heard outside the Hold as the remaining debris from the cave-in trembles and quakes. Several recently recruited volunteers of clan Skullkrusher take cover outside the Hold, followed closely by Beourn and Raryldor. One final thunderous crash sends dust pouring out of the entrance to the Hold. After a moment, Beourn and the others slowly makes their way through the broken stones and dust filled entrance. Soon after, cheering erupts from inside the Hold and almost immediately many dwarves are seen rushing in and out busily hauling away the remaining debris.

Thanks to the good people who volunteered, it seems the way to the Hold is finally clear, and we are all reunited with our mighty allies in these unnaturally troublesome times.

  • Dermin recently spoke with Beourn and Gnarl, he said he would be willing to lend his (low) mining skills to aid the dwarven Hold.

  • Boldbar will alternate swing his pick at the weak point and rushing over to the Grapevine to have several mugs of stout drawn up to await his undoubtedly thirsty Kin once they are freed. He will even begrudgingly offer a cool pint to all those who helped with the pick and shovel work, to cool them from their sweaty labors.

  • It has been a slow work in progress but there is no easy way to go about clearing a cave-in. Many volunteers have come and labored to see their allies reunited with their kin. Dwarves such as Senator Heffa's stonemasons, Gnarl, Boldbar, and Beourn have worked tirelessly to make progress, but not without necessary help from Union leader Z, Dermin, Maria, and a few elves (who mainly just dulled our picks but the help was truly appreciated) and several others.

Early morning, just outside the Hold, Beourn muttered and stroked his beard after swinging his pick here and there at the debris of the cave-in. His grumbling could be heard just outside the Hold as he made several futile attempts to discover a weak point in the remaining debris. Gnarl approached, with eyes much keener than Beourn's, and offered his assistance. After a few hours of them scanning the cave-in and pointing and poking at certain areas, Maria approached the two and once again offered her assistance. With eyes as sharp as a dwarven waraxe, Maria spotted an area Gnarl had previously mentioned. After a few swings of the pick, they found the weak point was indeed quite unstable. Beourn eagerly took word to the remaining volunteers to further expose the weak point in the cave-in, and that we all would soon be reunited with our stout allies in the Hold.

  • Having no idea how to swing a pick, Nelor instead works to help haul away the debris while dodging Ardent's swings

  • Z shows up with several extra picks and offers his service.

  • Anyone who arrives at the Hold will find Beourn puffing intently from his smoking pipe, inspecting the cave-in, and muttering occasionally. If approached he says…

"Oo, well met an' glad ye could make it! We'll be waitin' until the lot o' volunteers arrive before we get t'work so we can organize and coordinate the effort efficiently. For now we need t'focus on recruitin' more volunteers! Heffa, the dwarven senator from Peltarch has offered ah group o' his stonemasons and engineers t'help, and we are still awaitin' the Skullkrushers reply for assistance. It looks like Maria and possibly more Spellweaver members 'er willin' t'assist, and Belia is lookin' into what assistance she can offer through her druid magic.."

"Once we've got everyone here and Romulus singing songs of freedom, we will put you to work!"

Beourn goes back to inspecting the cave-in, puffing and muttering.

  • Ardie lifts a pickaxe in her willowy arms, raises it high, and tinks off the stone there. She leans back and takes a deep breath.

    "This may take awhile."
