Talindra Verados

  • _Talindra looked back at Daerlun as she rode away, her father would soon be after her once he found out she had left, but she didn't care. She traveled with someone who would let her choose her own path, not be married off to some old man that would better business for her father.

She would be a knight and honor the memory of her three dead brothers and live up to what she thinks her two remaining ones wished her to be. She now had Ladros to travel with. He was so nice to her and his way of thinking was so honorable, he would gladly give his life to help anyone he saw in danger, he held the true qualities of a knight in her mind.

This is where her new life began, with this man and his other companions, one look back and they rode hard for the Stonelands, that is where the future lay, where she would begin her life as a knight and prove to all she had what it took.

The first year moved by so fast, she barely even noticed it, skirmishes with orcs in the Stonelands, traveling to Mulmaster, one of the greatest cities of corruption. Little did she know that this journey would change her life so much. As she looked upon the army of orcs assembled before them, there had to be at least one hundred and there were only five of them.

She looked to the village behind them, Mulmaster would not waste troops on this small village, they knew the only hope for these people were the few brave companions that stood here now, preparing to meet a charge that will most likely kill them all.

Her heart raced at the thought of death, but she had learned to trust in the Lord Tyr and knew if she fell this day, she would be welcomed by him and live forever in his embrace. The fear of death lessened at having that knowledge. She looked beside her at Ladros, he was so noble on his horse, calm and ready to charge this army in front of them. She wondered if he had any fear of death.

As the orc horns blew her horse pushed forward slightly as if trying to get a head start on the charge. She still looked upon Ladros, waiting for the order to move forward.

The order came and all went black….time passed so slowly in the heat of battle, it seemed as almost everything had stopped. Then the darkness clears and she looked around at the battle waging around her, swinging out with her sword at anything with green skin that happened to get to close.

A shrill scream filled the air and her heart felt like it stopped, she glanced over to see Ladros impaled upon a orcish spear, yet his life would not leave, he kept fighting, kept killing the orcs, then once again darkness came, this time it didn't end till she woke in a bed, looking up at one of their companions, his face sad.

She knew right away, something had happened to her love. His sword lay beside her, all she could do was cry.

After he was buried, her and the only remaining companion set out to correct the injustice done to their friends. Several more years passed, finally breaking and going their own ways she wandered until she saw a city on the horizon. This may be a place to begin anew, a place to begin her quest for justice, a place to make sure her friends didn't die in vain.

She whispered to herself...."Peltarch". Her only thoughts were of Ladros and how she would not fail him, she would see him soon and they would be together forever._
