Towers In the Pass

  • _The two towers in the pass, outside the old gypsy camp, seem to be home to more then just Aelthas these days. A group of twenty heavily armored knights ride out from the old camp on horses and carrying spears, shields slinged to their backs. They are joined by about five mages and another five or so scouts.

Tents are quickly set, and the scouts take positions high up in the towers. They are welcomed openly by Aelthas, and all appear to be wearing a white cloth strip tied around their upper arms. Many might recognize that they wear the red and blue of the old Romani._

  • A young man in old issue green Defender armor is seen a few times each week helping with the defensive preparations at the towers, and speaking to Aelthas occasionally.

  • Raven's Wing Caravans start having a flashy, attractive looking gentleman follow them with parchment and quill, scribbling down who knows what as they walk through the pass, sometimes giving a flashy smile to those attempting to look threatening.

  • ::Shallyah stands alongside quietly, her Great Axe resting on her shoulder. If the lightning is right, her grey eyes can be seen calm and serene, staring into the traders' as they pass by::

  • Aelthas watches the Oscuran caravans closely as they pass by but no move is made to stop them traveling the Pass. After a while of watching them he heads off to find the dwarves who have shown up and takes them off to one of the towers for a quiet conversation.

  • Oscuran caravans to and from Norwick watch the proceedings carefully as they walk along the road…

  • Val drops down to the Bridge to check on things and speak with Aelthas, passing over fifteen fine steel woodcutters hatchets for the work to be done.

Anything else that would be of assistance?

//Will make and trash the hatchets on next log in.

  • As the sun pushes over the horizon a new sight is seen at the towers. A group of fifteen Norwickian refugees have made camp there near the Romani encampment. After a brief talk in the morning with Aelthas and the woman Sara who leads the Romani, the refugees set to work on cutting down nearby trees from the north and seem to begin construction on walls throughout the bridge area. Although the work is slow to begin, the defense preparations are beginning in the area.

  • ::The Peltarch Defender Shallyah spends long periods of time near the tower and the bridge, either simply watching southwards, or taking patrols in the area fully armored with her greataxe in hand. She does not speak to anyone with idle words as a passtime. If she has something worthwhile to say, she says it, otherwise she minds her own business, whichever that may be::

  • Three dwarves show up in full armor, axes and shields ready, and begin setting up camp near the souther tower. They watch everyone else suspiciously and don't talk much to outsiders. The closest they get to an actual conversation goes along the lines of…

    "Hear ye be needin' axes."
"Hear ye be havin' an axe we be needin' too."

The third just chuckles with an ale at hand. Apparently this is all the explanation they are willing to give.

  • ((I cant be there now.. seems my videocard has gone, or at least is part of my comp problems, ordering a new one now, wont be here for a few days and NwN gives me the white screen of death on my onboard video.. so yeah, will be a few more days before I'm back IG at least. If this is the only problem, lol))

  • Some elves - perhaps a cleric in silver and white and blue, perhaps a sturdy archer (but never both at the same time curiously) - moving between Peltarch and the Roost or the new elven home, might wonder just where in the hells these people came from, and what their mysterious appearance might mean.

  • The Gali seem to know what they are about, splitting in to five units of four horsemen, one mage, and one scout per unit. Each day finds one unit at each tower, two units in patrols that keep the towers in sight, and the last seemingly at rest. They make no real efforts to stop people, though the units on patrol regularly give warning and conversation to any travellers. Any refugees that might be found heading north are normally swept in to whichever patrol finds them for the remaining part of their rounds before being escorted north to the Legion's tower. Each day finds the units switched on duties, allowing each unit one day of rest, two days of tower duty, two of patrols, before another day of rest.

((I'll try to be there, but chances are I will be late))

  • // I can make 6pm EST on Saturday, that's 10am on Sunday morning for me

  • After the Gali are settled in Aelthas sends word out to the city of Peltarch, the Legion, the remaining Norwick militia, the Divine Shield and any other interested parties who wish to defend the Pass to come to a meeting in two ten-days time to discuss strategies regarding the defense of the Pass and actions to be taken against the enemies they now face.

((We will try an IG meeting say this weekend sometime, maybe on Saturday at around 6pm EST and we can fill the rest up with forum work as well.))
