Old_New_OrionArdent Cashail is the only child of Hanifah Nejem and seventh child of Inverness Cashail, a Banite bandit. As a young half elf, she spent her days in Calimport with her mother who worked in an inn and tavern, her life was far from prosperous but she never knew how poor they really were because she enjoyed the company of a large family on her mother's side and the fast moving life of living in a major trade city.
Her mother, not realizing that half elves aged differently, sought to marry her child off to a neighbor's older son, hoping to give her daughter the secure life she did not enjoy. Ardent protested and due to her often distant father's insistence, was instead apprenticed to a caravan captain. She moved from place to place, gradually heading north and gathering skills on the way. Before finally setting in Narfell, she lived for a year in Thay where she was an elven translator, a language she had picked up from a tutor in Calimport.
Her mother was a steadfast Kelemvorite all her days and Ardent was brought up in the faith but did not adhere strongly to it until moving to Narfell. Now she feels honor bound to do the best she can to restore the good reputation of the Church of Kelemvor in the land of Narfell. She keeps in touch with her numerous half siblings and mother via letter and her father lives in Oscura.
