Call for Lathanderites

Are you Lathanderite? Do you wish to be one of us? Then join us! Join the fight against evil!
This land is in constant conflict, and has been for as long as anyone can remember. We need young and able people to carry out the holy commandments of the Morninglord. Joyful spirits filled with energy to join the ranks of the Dawnbringers, to become the blades of light that eradicate the darkness from our land. Our people deserve a better future, our children deserve to grow free, with the love of their families and without any worries for looming threats. Elf, dwarf, hin, orc and human alike, all are welcome to become a standard of light, the sunbeam of hope for those that need us.
With Hope, Faith and Love we can achieve those dreams. Lathander grants us the instruments and the courage to champion causes for those that can not defend themselves.
For this reason, High Priestess Rith Phoenixfeather will be offering personally teachings and rituals of initiation to the church of Lathander to those that wish to take the path of a holy warrior of the Morninglord. Aspirants to knights, priests, paladins, battleclerics and divine healers amongst other things, are welcome to apply. The initiation rituals and ceremonies are free of charge, and upon successfull completion you will receive your Novice Dawnbringer Package* and your first assignment from Lady Phoenixfeather herself, along with some of her blessings.

*The Novice Dawnbringer Package includes:
- One set of half plate armor
- One tower shield
- One longsword or mace
- One Longbow or Crossbow
- One full quiver of arrows or bolts of Eternal Rest
- A survival package consisting of 10 Cure Moderate Wounds, and 2 Cure Serious Wounds potions
- 500 gold pieces for expenses (food, bed, additional armamentsā¦)
//OOC: This is a motivational/incentive for people to roll new Lathanderite clerics and paladins mainly, though LG/NG followers of other classes could probably get benefit of it too through IC RP interactions. Beyond the package, Rith will be giving them tasks and rewarding them upon completion. Characters that are already existing and convert to Lathander will receive the same benefits. Anyone wanting to take the offer, whisper me ingame or send me a forum PM to arrange IC rituals of initiation and delivering the packages and assignments.

::If Rith is around, she would indeed agree that is a good idea to allow people to learn how to defend themselves at basic levels. However, for the world population to be self-sustainable, society needs most people to be smiths, farmers, merchants, engineers, architects, politiciansā¦ and besides, Rith is training holy warriors with utmost dedication to the cause of protecting the land against major threats, such as evil outsiders, powerful undead and magical threats - which goes far beyond showing a farmer how to correctly hold a pitchfork against a rat in the cellar::

Reading trough these lines, Hammer mumbles to those nearby it would probably be better in the long run to teach these people how to defend themselves, instead of just trying to shield them all the time. You can't be everywhere at once, afterall.
