Trapped Thoughts

  • //María is petrified, so she's unconscious iirc about petrified people. Here I will relate about the dreams she has and how she akownledges she's dreaming. Since the soul is separated from the body and being petrified doesnt equal being dead.
Andelas, if you dont find this possible, or if you think the DE would interfere with her dreams, please post about it 😃

_A large valley, deers, badgers and birds move about freely. She opens her eyes slowly. She's sitting under a tree, leaning her back on it. She's hungry, and reaches for an apple from her bag, taking a bite, smiling. She can hear the singing of the birds, the sound of the wind through the leafs…all is so real.

"oh, I'll be late for class if I don't hurry up"

she stands up and starts walking quietly leaning on her staff, the animals seem to not notice her presence and keep with their daily activities.

"What could I talk about today? About magic itself? Mystra?"

She walks without hurry, calm and thoughtfuly, she closes her eyes for a moment, trying to remeber something about Mystra's magic that she can't give a name but is of the most important kind for todays lesson. Suddenly, she remembers it and voices it as she opens her eyes.

"Mystra is the keeper of the weave....the wave...the wave.."

Suddenly stops, eyes widden. It's blue...and she should not be able to see it, it's all around and it's spread far in the distance too. She can see the wave. Something is out of place, why can she see the wave? Wait...did she...did she say "Mystra"?... she tries again.

"Mystra". She says just that, a single word, a worried expression. She lets the staff fall down, she doesn't feel she needs it.

"I'm dreaming". She says, blatantly, after realizing her lisp is gone. She closes her eyes again, trying hard to focus and concentrate, when she opens them again, the wave is invisible again. A sigh of relief.

"At least I realized. What happened? I need to remember...what's the last thing you remember?"

She opens a door that comes out of nowhere, she just wished it to be there, and there it was. She goes through it, and she's not in the valley anymore, she's in a room, filled with shelves, which are filled with books. She methodicaly looks over the shelves, and stops before the one to her right, taking a book and opening it. She passes several pages until she notices one half-written. After reading over it, she places the book back on the shelf and opens another door. This one leads her to Candlekeep, her home.. Candlekeep library, second floor, section C4. She sits and rests her hands on her temples. What's the situation. What do you know?

"I was possesed. She was waiting for the right moment to attak my mind. That's why Grag insisted in the visit, why he brought me to the tower...and why I accepted. I expected something to happen, I knew I was in danger, and that's why I casted protective spells on me before heading in. It wasn't enough. Maybe she had yet no total control over my mind. Maybe she was still fighting to get through my conscience, or she would have stopped Grag?
    Irrelevant. Focus on the situation.
He stabbed me with an arrow. It wasn't as painful as I would've expected from a stab in the neck. Then again my nerves were mayhaps collapsed by the terrible fear of what I quickly noticed.
    Petrification arrow.
And that's all I can remember."

She takes a deep breath. She looks around, the library, her old home. She looks at all the books, all the knowledge. Suddenly, a hooded female elf sits besides her. She quietly pulls her hood off. Silea, her only true friend in the world, the one that was more than a sister to her.

"What are you doing here, María? You are not supposed to be here in Candlekeep. Something terrible must have happened... you made a promise. To never go back to Candlekeep without me, remember?"...

Everything turns black, nothing can be seen, but she's not nervous. Slowly starts seeing, it gets clearer. Candleekeep, outside...when she was 13. There's something strange about the images, they move too fast...something, someone is showing her the past, nearly as if a real experience again, but faster.

She can see clearly again how the other students mocked her because of her lisp, how Silea scared them off, with her rough looks. How she started hanging out with Silea after that, how Silea cared for her, as if she was a big sister, how she teached María to live in the streets through all of this years, to defend herself, to be someone. How Silea was there when she graduated.....and even...the day that Silea was taken by those thugs...she got taken away trying to protect her...

Everything turns dark again, and suddenly she can see herself with the note Silea left for her before she was taking away. She can see herself, with 18 years, crying. Everything but her is dark, it's not there. And she can hear her own voice echoing in her head as she said it...as she promised it.

"I will get you back, Sil. I promise to you I will not come back home until I've found you"...

Everything turns black again for a moment, then she's back in Candlekeeps library, Silea sitting next to her. María looks at her helplessly, and only one thing does Silea say, or rather, one thing echoes in María, one thing that Silea said once, and would say now.

"If someone can do this, it's you."...

The images fade. She's again in the valley, the animals are not there though, the trees look less living, the grass brownish...and suddenly it feels colder, it snows...

    "It's her"._

  • _The misty shadowy form fades…but the cold is still in the air. María glances behind her, the dark form reapering there, yet always silent and distant. María makes a symbol with her hands while she says some words, creating a magical barrier infront of herself.

"If I have to fight you for you to leave, I will. We are both trapped here, and the same is to me to stay like this or die."

She waves her staff and says some words out loud in an old ancient language, netherese. A ring of white sparkles flyes around her head, shielding her more inner mind.

"Come, fight me. Do it. I don't want to become you and harm my friends. If I die here, then you'll die with me, and If I kill you, then I'll be free".

But suddenly a beam of light floods everything. The shadowy form vanishes, and the trees, and the valley...there's just light...and María can't see a thing. The light starts fading, Candlekeep again?...what is it now...
"Wait...that's the day..." a Smile appears in María's face...and she lets the dream show to her..._

  • _First thing, start running. Instinct. María runs, not even sure where, or if she's getting away from her. She just runs…it's her dream, and she can just run without the need of magic, she's fine. She enters a forest, mayhaps she can hide from her there. She keeps running, until she reaches the heart of the forest. Then suddenly stops, and turns.

"Wait. What am I running for?" She glances around, then focus at the path she came through.

"She will find me, sooner or later. We are both trapped. She is in as much need as I am."

María waits, standing there, waiting for her to appear. She is scared, but she doesn't show it. The tree leafs start changing to brown, and suddenly there's no birds or animals to be heard in the forest either, she getting closer, and it's cold as ice. Quietly, María prepares a fire, and sits close to it, awaiting.
María can feel her presence approaching, she's getting closer and closer. She considers running again, but something is holding her in the spot...wether it's fear itself, Silea's words or....the DarkEnchantress herslef, she can't tell. She gives up on the idea of standing up and running, and resigns to sit there and wait.
She's just there, the dark figure comes out from the tree line. It's black and dark. It's not entirely vivisble, is like mist and darkness put together.
It's colder than before, the fire María has made, trembles at the presence of the DarkEnchantress.

"What do you want from me?" No response. The dark figure simply stays there, facing towards María. But there's no eyes to see, no hands or arms to notice...it's confusing.
María leaves out a loud sigh.

"We are both trapped. I'm sure you know that." She looks at the DE, now understanding something important.
"You need me. If I die here, you are over too. I don't know where we are, I don't know how to get out of this. Do you know? Can you get us out of this?
Wait, no. If you get us out of here, you'll posses me. I don't want to harm my friends and my people...and..I...I still have that promise."

She looks at the silent DarkEnchantress, or at least, what she thinks is the DarkEnchantress in her own dreams. She doesn't talk, she doesn't even breath, is just standing there, listening perhaps.

María looks at her with determination in her eyes. She stands up and reaches for her staff, leaning her weight softly on it. She speaks out and loud.

"I want you out of me"._
