Hoarrans at the tower
-
Ael'Que uses the water to brew yet another pot of tea
-
As a few of the Hoarrans finish with inspection quickly enough, they return back to light sparring after drinking some of the water, though they do give Danielle an off look now and then.
((any PC that does drink the water… feel free to post, and also send a PM for effects))
-
…. and yet they've been drinking it for days and days, and they live still?? gasp If only there was some way in these crazy times that water could be tested for safety! So the random rumors go.
-
_…or the hoaran leaders poisoning their own men, just to blame the Legion for it.
No, but they couldn't be that wicked.
Or could they?_
-
Hammerhand, who doesn't seem to recognize Danielle judging by his mannerisms, moves to give her the friendly advice that open and unguarded barrels of drinking water make an all too tempting target for any sneaks wanting to poison her men.
-
After a particularly hard morning of training, which Danielle has been watching with a hard expression from the side, she looks to the Tower then calls an unexpected and sudden break.
We've become lax here. You two pointing at two of her men bring every barrel of water we have out. It's too hot to be training without something to drink. The rest of you, tent inspections within an hour. Once those barrels are out, same goes for you both.
The Hoarrans scatter to their tents, flipping flaps back and pulling bedrolls, many of which do seem to have been left in disorder. Some are even cursing softly since many haven't been wearing their full plate for days. Once all four barrels have been moved out to where the training has been taking place, the two flee for their own tent to start straightening things up. A still somewhat tipsy from last night Riselle is turned out from the tent she borrowed last night looking surprised. Danielle moves to the four barrels, and pries the lid off each, motioning to all the Legionaaires and others who have been curious about training.
Help yourselves to some water. This may take awhile.
She moves off to the tents, going one by one, ignoring Riselle, and pointing out a number of things to be taken care of to each of the Hoarrans she talks with, from armor polishing, to frayed tent edging, worn leather on some tack. The barrels sit open to any who wish to drink while waiting for the Hoarrans to finish their inspection.
-
(Ael'Que is seeming to put alot of time in around the tower. He speaks casually with Hoarans and legionaires alike. Often sharing some tea with either side or just sitting quietly off to the side. He appears to be ever watchfull though, almost on edge.)
-
Vick wanders through on a regular basis, keeping his distance but watching the slow build up of forces near the tower. If he sees someone approaching he will fade back into the pass.
-
One day, Anor approaches Danielle with a smile on her face
If I could speak to you in private, please?
She motions to Danielle's tent
-
With her blessed spear, Anor seems to try to learn some from Danielle's teachings about the use of such weapon, not looking specialy dextrous with it, but wiling to learn. She can be seen laughing from time to time when she messed up, and she seems in fact, to be enjoying this.
-
Ever since wandering down the Pass one day and encountering the Hoarran forces at the Legion tower, Aelthas has been seen frequenting it to spend some time with them. Often times he brings drinks of Romani wine and sits in quiet conversation with many of the Hoarrans if they wish too, especially Danielle.
-
_Seeming to settle in for what appears to be a long stay, the Hoarrans keep a clean and orderly camp. When the current water supply begins to run low, another six barrels are sent for, and again two are offered to the tower.
Some of them, including Danielle relent eventually and teach the basics of working with a spear, and some basics of mounted combat, though their horses seem uncannily intelligent and are hard to match. Spar matches for those willing are agreed to, though always with at least two nearby witnesses to break it up if it looks like it's getting ugly.
With each extra wagon of supplies a few more of the Hoarrans often stay, bringing wine sometimes, or some better cuts of meat sometimes, and it's becoming common fo them to stay a day or so over lounging by the fires. Riselle hasn't returned to the camp since her arrival, and spends at least some of each night playing some old Romani tunes around the fires, which have a tendency to lure Jonni and Jonathan out from their tent._

Yngdír leaves the Tower, he does not come back that way for a long time - and when he does his clothes have changed to silvery green, like thick grass on a foggy morning. If he was unpleasant to the Hoarans as a Legionnaire he is now more blatant with his dislike toward them, now that he hold no rank in the Legion. Lingering glares and bolting his horse dangerously close to their camp.
-
Passing through Ael'Que stops with a smile for Danielle and Risselle
I am glad you all have come to a resolution. I hope someday I am able to visit you at your home. I would enjoy hearing more of your history here.
With a quiet smile he slips away, leaving behind another packet of the fine tea.
-
And yet Danielle always greets him with a smile and wave when she does see him.
-
The recent news does nothing to relieve Yngdír of his suspicions. He can be seen sometimes looking down from the high places of the Tower, normally a glimpse of his grey cloak disappearing behind the rampart as he takes his leave into the Tower. Whenever he passes the Hoarans he looks down on them with disdain.
-
Aranwë is around the tower more often as of late. He rarely speaks to any of the guests with the exception of a polite greeting. Though, when he passes, he is always looking around at the camp and those in it.

Troff Legion breaths a heavy sigh of releif and regards the Horran visitors with a far less tense attitude. He grins, glad that things have been worked out peacefully. He makes an effort to get to know the other horrans stationed here, and asks if they'd be allowed to train and spar together.
-
When it doesn't seem that she's busy, Soliel passes the Hoaran camp with red rimmed eyes.. likely having found little sleep recently, she Gives a wave and greetings to Danielle and if she welcomes some light conversation, she has a few questions amidst light discussions of the finer points of spear combat.
-
After a flurry of meetings it seems, between the tower and the tent, and even what sounds a religious debate with Hammerhand separately, Danielle dispatches a messenger back to the camp. The next day a younger woman who seems bright and chipper arrives at the tower. Yet another meeting before finally Danielle just motions her out front, where she bounces with a smile and a flourish of her cloak to the watching Legionairres.
Greetings, my name is Riselle. I am pleased to announce that at the suggestion of your General Grag, and the pleasant Marty of Legion and Peltarch that while there are many differences that still need to be worked out, in answer to their concerns for safety of trade between Norwick and Peltarch… dramatic pause Jonathan has agreed! Passes had been brought up in discussions, and will be issued to merchants to assure their safe passage through our lands. All of the details have yet to be worked out, but I was urged to share the good news!
