In a time of peace, men must find ways to make war.

It was a hot summer day, the rays of celestial fragrance poured out of the heavens onto a plain of Mortals. These specific mortals, were a tribe of Human men that roamed the forest floors in search of prey. These men were hunters. They lived there whole lives tracking animals and silently stalking anything that dared tresspass into there land. There were few occassions when another tribe of woodland creatures would challenge the skill of these mighty hunter. This is plain version of such a time…

_…When a hunter sleeps, his senses are most alert. His eyes are shut, but his mind is constantly scanning the surrounding area. The sounds of the trees moving, the leaves brushing against one another, was an orchestra of bliss for these Hunters. And if the peace was disturbed..they would never hesitate to respond accordingly. One particular night, a brave troop of Orc Warriors thought to end the reign of these human men. The trees were still that night, the dark forest was silent. This was not a common scene for the wooded havon. If not the trees moving, the Owls Hooing, the the nocturnal blessings of the forest came to life. Nothing but silent.

The hunters slept in their brush made canopies, unaware that at the moment...the Orc tribe was only paces away from there camp. The Orcs managed to overcome the keen senses. They fire arrows blindly into the camp, not knowing where they were shooting, or what they were shooting at! The Hunters a woke at the sound of Bowstrings being stretched back, a common enough sound for a hunter to recognize. The hunters grabbed for their bows, but it was too late. The Orcs had smashed through the make-shift gate made of tree bark, mainly to keep out small creatures at night. The Orcs were savage! They swung madly with there axes, halving men left and right. The Hunters were out numbered, and in too close of range for their bow's to have the affect. At that moment, one hunter, sprung from his cot under a leaf blanket, leaping onto the back of an Orc. The dung into his throat with his field knife, a must have for all reputable hunters, Killing the beast instantly. He rolled off the corpse as it fell to thr ground, making a ground rattling THUMP. This drew attention of most of the Orcs, Giving the survivors time to regain their footing. The dead Orc laying next to him, had a very large sword, much larger than his simple steel blade with a bone carved handle. He instinctively grabbed it, not knowing the weight, failing to pick up the first time. He lifted it with such a great force on the second attempt the top of the blade flung over his head, stretching his shoulders back with such force, his left arm popped out of it's socket. Through the pain, he lifted the blade once more with only his right arm, managing to grip it with his left, he lunged forward, thrusting the blade into the gut of the threatening Orc who was in midswing aiming for the courageous man. The few other hunters had gotten the advantage of the remaning orcs, cutting them down, one by one with their shortswords. Still staring intot he eyes of the dead Orc, he pulled the sword from it's body, only to replace it under it's chin, severing it's head entirely.

Zakry! Heard his name called out from beyond the red tunnel he seemed to be starring into. His survey of the camp left him in utter shock and disbelief. The floor littered with bloody remains of peers and friends and the large hulking corpses of the intruding Orcs. A blood soaked man, stares at his only two living friends, relatives, family. An empty man stood above his prey. Not feeling glorified of the kill, no feeling of accomplishment, or victory, just dark.

Another familiar sound cam from the bushes, a bowstring ripped back with greatforce. He turned to see what seemed an entire quiver of arrows flying through the air towards them. Cover! He yelled, but to no consequence. He dove out of the targeted area, landing behind a tree. He took a small glance around the see if the two other men had convered...they had not. Too injured from the attack, the men were too slow to dive out. Their arrow filled bodies lay lifeless on the floor, along with the many other victims. His attention quickly turned at the sound of a twig snapping under pressure. He was met with a club bashing against his skull, leaving him unconscious, left for dead. The Orcs robbed the camp of everything that ever meant anything to this tribe of mortals.

This man's body was found several hours later, by a lost merchant. The merchant brought Zakry to a town that offered help. After a month of recovery, Zakry found it necessary to return to the woods. Hearing rumors of the Rawlinswood, he set out towards Narfell in hopes of finding a new peace in his life._
