They feel it in the Commerce District, where the Rat-Master General swears and directs her troops to take cover.
They feel it in the Residential Quarter, where Lady Daisy looks up from her prayers and frowns as an armored woman appears out of midair and collapses.
They even feel it in the sewers, when bands of adventurers hastily decide to depart.
Miranda Greywing feels it in her garden. Justy feels it at her piano, playing Dengue Woman Blues. Sand feels it in bed, and redoubles her efforts. Merci feels it as she prepares her contribution to the Seldarine festival.
In the Fugue, one of Helm's paladins feels it and stares into the unending black, her hands clenched into fists.
And over all of it rides the crazed, mocking laughter of a young woman, the sound carrying a single message:
