Pengui Chiami

Character name: Pegri "Pingui" Chiami
Account name: 61483124Growing up in the north-western part of Thesk, the young gnome who stands no taller than just under three feet is used to craning her neck up slightly at almost everyone she meets. Mostly forest-gnome, she does bare some rock-gnome blood, making her not quite as diminutive and pocket sized as the rest of the forest-gnome kin.
Somewhat of a rarity among those of her blood, she did not grow up as particularly shy as most forest kin, often seen approaching others to ask them questions and sate an almost unquenchable thirst for knowledge and lore. Spending a good deal of her time with her rock-gnome grandmother, she learned quite a bit about other cultures, and had always been curious to meet non-gnomish kind, having met her first halfling at the tender age of ten.
Gifted with wisdom, something often found lacking in many gnomes whom tend to oft' throw caution to the wind, Pegri has always been one to think before she leaps when on her own (though is often seen throwing caution to the wind when traveling with others.). While not nearly as big of a prankster as many other gnomes in her sizable family of both rock and forest gnomes, the gift of patience and initiative had made her quite the scout. Training at the tender age of 35 to become a forest ranger (rather young for a gnome), she had been asked by the town leader to prank some local goblins warrens, and liberate them of some of their key supplies.
Following the others in quiet step, careful, the littl Chiami had gone deep into the nearby warrens. As cautious and careful the gnomes were, the goblins had managed to catch them in a trap. The goblins, doing oft what they do had began striking each one down, one by one, until young Pegri lay there trembling, looking onto the creatures which had captured and slain her comrades in sheer terror.
The goblins, seeing it fit to keep her as a hostage, shackled her left ankle to the wall. Seeing her fallen comrades all around, she fought as hard as she could, wanting to reach out and help them if she could, but was unable to. To her grim fortune though, finding adull blade within finger's reach, when no one was looking, Pegri began to try and pry the lock open to no avail. The goblins seeming to have all been distracted by some commotion just outside the cave, Pegri knew she didn't have much time to escape. Closing her eyes in tears as she prayed to the wild wanderer, biting onto the fabric of her tattered outcit, she did the only thing she could do at this point.
Sever her own foot just past the ankle to free herself.
In tears as she did it, barely able to stay conscious, let alone help her fallen allies, she did her best to administer treatment to no avail. Powerless, she wept in tears with her head on the leader's chest, slowly fading away from blood-loss, until the blood curdling scream of a goblin looking right at her had drawn her attention.
The goblin, seeming to walk up slowly to her, noticing her foot was severed grinned as she began to try and crawl away for her life, finally backed up against the wall she was shackled to. Vision going blurry, she blinked once and saw a -very- large creature just behind the goblin, eyes falling heavy. Eyes opening twice, she saw that it was a giant raccoon. Not the size of a wolf a large badger, it was something that could have possibly put a dire bear to shame. It turned its head after crushing the goblin against the wall, and started walking up towards the little gnome.
Eye lids seeming to get heavy, the last thing she saw was the large raccoon's large maw opening up right in front of her face before passing out limp onto its tongue.
Waking up what seemed like over a mile from the warrens, Pegri was laying next to a large oak. Blurry vision finally fading away, the raccoon was licking the wounds of the fallen scouts it seemed to have taken out along with the others. Chirring as its head hung low, it padded up to the little forest gnome and nudged the base of her left leg. Pegri would see that the foot was still missing, yet her body seemed to have been healed of the wound, leaving a stump. Unsure really what to say, she gestured to the others, clasping the raccoon and begged it to help her. With an apologetic look in its eyes, a look of lofe and sympathy, the gigantic 'coon walked back to the fallen.
As she mourned, all of a sudden she rolled away feeling someone poking her on the shoulder. Looking back, she saw the phantasmal finger of one of her friends seeming to come right out of the tree, along with the rest of him after, the big mustached elderly scout bared a smile on his face having caught Pegri with the prank.
She could hear the laughter all of a sudden of the other scouts that had fallen, all in their own phantasmal forms as they laughed and giggled in glee. Pegri at that point, had felt her shattered heart reconstitute itself within her. Not only that, it would become stronger than ever as she turned around to see the giant animal begin to radiate a divine lightt. Seeing all her companions wave to her before heading to the light, she waved to them back before they seemed to merge with it. In one final flash of bright light, the raccoon, the bodies, and the spirits were all gone.
Having seen for herself what quite possibly could have been Baervan Wildwanderer's faithful companion itself, Chiktikka Fastpaws show mercy upon the souls who had fallen and saw to it, itself to bring them to their final destination where they could rest, frolic, and have fun in the afterlife without worry.
The resourceful gnome, making a crutch for herself eventually traveled to her rock gnome home where she could recuperate. Rather than lamenting on her new found weakness, she turned it into a strength. Studying what she could, speaking to elders, the young gnome studied hard and became a priestess.
Eventually, years of hard work came to fruition when Baervan let her cast her first blessing, healing a flower in a flowerpot her grandmother took care of. Older, toughened up, and well trained, she bid her family farewell and perused her wanderlust, traveling through the rawlins and meeting many other gnomes on the way. Many secretive forest gnome as well as wild and wood elf societies noticing the young priestess' presence did not hesitate to welcome her with open arms, which in return she offered her services as a healer as well as sharing stories of her past, teaching recipes she learned. About half way up north of the great dale, she actually came across a gnomish work shop whe she had stayed for awhile, spending time with the lonely old shop smith who was so grateful for her presence, he fashioned her two pairs of artificial feet, placing a clamp on the base of her severed limb to easily attach it. Awkward at first, with movable joints at the toes and ankle, she eventually had become used to it The kindly old gnome once seeing she could handle walking herself had relieved
Meeting up with many different races along the way, always finding other fellow travelers to keep her company, she was never truly alone in her travels. Learning much from her experiences, the forest gnome had finally come upon a town named Norwick, and from there, her adventures in the land of Narfell would truly begin.
