Last Rites

  • _Word begins to spread that the last rites of Wog and Yngdir will take place soon, at the Legion tower.

    ((August 9, around 7PM GMT))_

  • _On the time of the last rites, a pyre was built with the prepared body of Yngdir on it. Next to it was a simple, open casket with the body of Wog.
Wearing his ceremonial armored robe and steel skullcap, Hammer began to speak after a few people arrived.

"Today, under the eyes of Tempus, we gather to honour these two warriors.
Sergeant Yngdir, who sacrificed his life to defeat the dracolich and its minions to ensure the continued existence and safety of all Narfell.
And Sergeant Any Wogsburgh, whose record is long and glorious, who was given his earned peace by the gods.

Trough the sacrifices they made, we endure. And before we give Sergeant Yngdir to the fire, and Sergeant Wogsburgh to the earth as their wishesh, let us remember them, and never forget."

He then turned and held his hands over the body on the pyre.
"Sergeant Yngdir. May Tempus guard your honoured soul in the afterlife. May your name endure the ages.
Before the rites are completed, and we leave him to pass, is there any who would speak on him now?"

After giving time for those gathered to speak their respects, Hammer takes a torch from a prepared fire.
"It is custom for those closest to the fallen to see them off, if they wish it."
Though the torch was offered to one, she didn't have the strength to do it, so Hammer did, lighting the pyre with respectful words.
"With hearts and souls filled with nothing but honour, we release you to the gods. Be honoured forever."

After this, much of the rite repeats itself for over the body of Any, of which the casket was closed by Hammer as well. "With hearts and souls filled with nothing but honour, we release you to the gods. Be honoured forever."

And with this, the rites end. Wog will's casket will be bured in the grounds of the temple of Kelemnvor, while an urn with an amount of the ashes of Yngdir was entrusted to La'ali._
