Gathering those that are Preparing for the Dracolich

  • ::Looks to Benji::

One believes this is thine forte

  • ::Rith nods at Ronan's words::

You would not believe what we went through. I hope that "Super Undead Dragon Killing Weapon" is more than a bluff.

As for the arrows, I retrieved them from a Lathanderite cache with the aid of some of the brave warriors that stand in this room today ::bowing her head slightly at Mariston and Albryanna::, and they are holy artifacts of my Church. As such I will reserve the right to use them against the Dracolich and its minions myself.

It is only ten of them and I am an expert bowyer, so I will treasure them and make sure they do not go to waste.

::She then looks around the room::

Who, then, thinks him or herself capable of mounting and manipulating the gnomish contraption? According the instruction manual, if well used, it is a lethal weapon against undead draconids.

  • A group of us have found a weapon or two to use against the dracolich. One is a contraption of sorts that a made mage made. I'm not sure we can trust this one, but… well, we'll have to try anything at this point.

Ronan holds up what appears to be a puzzle box of sorts..

Only a mighty warrior will beable to use it. So whoever is decent at that sword slashing thing, feel free to volunteer.

We'll also have arrows blessed by Lathander, that are quite powerful. Even moreso against undead. Those should be handy against a big undead dragon, no doubt.

  • We know that the Dracolich is like any lich and dragon…a powerful user of magic. What resources do thou hath for counteracting wards and magical defences?
I wouldst aid thee in this battle, but I hath pledged assistance to Ronan on a related matter.
//cant be there due to RL commitments//
But this I think will be an important area to concern thineselves with. How to breach any magical defences, mundane protections are easily bypassed those of a more arcane or divine nature can prove more challenging. I wouldst take stock of what resources we hath in that area and ensure their safe arrival at the site.
Also Lady Rith with some others recently gained some useful aid, mayhaps we should discuss what resources art available and the best utilisation of these resources?

  • " I would suggest to all, that even though undead and the dragolich will quite likely be able to see through such tricks, yet invisabilty shots should be carryed by all just in case"

  • Clay lofts his eyebrow at Hammerhand

I don't think everybody here has consigned themselves to martyrdom just yet.

There's nothing wrong with a good escape plan.

  • _"The dragon's army will be larger than we can probably guess, stronger than we can guess –- I'm pretty sure we haven't seen the strongest of them -- and then there's the dragon itself. And they have the advantage of having a prepared, probably fortified position.

I doubt the undead dragon or the leader minions are stupid enough to let themselves be drawn out of their defenses, and there's not a whole lot of us. Fury and faith go a long way, but we need a better plan then "let's go there and see what happens" if we want to punch a hole large enough, and hold it long enough, for the mages and druids to get close enough to destroy the tower.

And.. there's this. Getting in will be hard enough, getting out.. maybe we shouldn't even plan on it. Accept that those who are going, are going to die, but are going to die destroying what might be the most powerful enemy of our time. If we start worrying about getting out, we won't focus enough on getting in."_

  • Shannon speaks once more…

If it is indeed true that no Yuan-Ti will set foot on the battlefield by the allied forces' asking, then the blades of the Divine Shield shall stand with you.

I myself plan to remain at the gates of Norwick, as many others have suggested that bugbears, hobgoblins, and goblins alike may try to take the town as we are all off attempting to vanquish the Dracolich.

At the very least, my Order shall ensure that potions are adequately distributed amongst you before you set off.

    @749ccbb70f=EodenValmer:

A phylactery is, well from all research I hath carried out, a single piece; an object of exquisite value. Mayhaps the actual phylactery is built into the tower, but destroying the tower itself may not yield the destruction of the phylactery. There may be an area of the tower that is heavily warded, that spot may be the best place to focus any attack.

    <g>Fark!

We need to get our stories straight! Jerrick just said that the tower IS the phylactery.

    Is it or isn't it!</g>

As to potions, I can speak with Lady Daisy, yet as with any such aid, I wouldst think that they wouldst be required to go to those that honour the Triad. Certainly not any of dark heart nor worship foes of the Triad or show no respect to the gods of the Triad ::fixes a look at Yngdir as he says this::
If this can be guaranteed then I will speak with Lady Daisy one behalf of this cause.

  • @3145d6dfbb=Clan:

The question of healing and potions is a good one… MIght Daisy... or one of the high priests give us some healing blessings or other assistance?

Do any of our military organizations have a store of potions that we might be able to purchase at discount prices?

((any chance of getting a DM to sell some discounted potions ahead of time?))

Maya just sighs at this, having just spent virtually every coin she had on healing potions

  • "If the tower is the dragons soul, then it may bare more resitance to fire than we can imagine, yet ayou are correct, we dont know till we get there, taking powder kegs with us cannot hurt, and may even save these lands"

  • If it is tower-destruction we need, then I think I'd trust powder kegs before the wrath of nature.

Let me say that differently, as to not offend anyone…

We dont know what the fight will be like before we even get to the tower... Our friends in the circle may have to use more of their nature-powers than they planned before we get there. We dont want to get there only to find a forge with no coal!

Lets at least plan to use both the kegs and whatever the Druids can offer.

  • "Well, now people have stopped argueing weather there going to help fight evil in this land or not.. Perhaps we should speak of how this fight is going ot happen as none such speak has happened as of yet.

Id suggest as we will need to destroy the tower by the sounds of it, we split our group..

THe druids are the best choice to deal with the tower. They have the wrath of nature behind them, perhaps even enough to just crumble the tower.

Whereas crowd control should be left to the militants. Id suggest the Legion and the Paladins, aswell with any other volunteers. Once the tower is destoryed and the Dragon becomes valnuerable, all forces should concentrate their attack on the dragon."

  • ::Mariston looks to Dwin::

Then if that is the case, I shall pass the recommendation as Inquisitor of the Order that our Knights can with good conscience enter the fray, rain death upon our foes undead and scaled alike and cleanse the woods in an extermination of the vile that reside therein. May the holy fires cleanse the wicked and holy war unleashed.

  • " The Paladin then has no reason and his knights not to work with us, as i take it that was what they opposed?

If the Yaun Ti join the attack to, with no alliance with Norwick, then the better, you can kill two birds with one stone, end the dracolich with their help and whilst the Yaun Ti are bloodied, murder them to"

  • Mariston, I give you my word… on the very ground we stand on... that I have not spoken to, less SEEN a Yuan Ti years.

There is no allied agreement between the Realm of Norwick and any other sovereign people or land outside of our walls.

If your knights are here to aid the Realm of Norwick, then you may rest assured that we have no agreement or alliance with the Yuan Ti.

  • The temple of the Triad wouldst be beholden to the same oath bonds as the Order chancellor, with regards the situation outlined. However…If tis as thou say, that there hath been no talks with the fell yuan-ti to coordinate this attack, then I can see no issue of our knights aiding in the battle.
I shall let Sir Shannon as head of our Order bring final decision on this matter however. I wouldst see our knights at the fore of this battle. Yet we were lead to believe that the yuan-ti had been coordinated with in this plan, if they are but another foe on the field of battle that is another matter. Yet we must be sure of this.

  • Clay looks to the blue and gold clad knight, and probably looks quite unimpressive in comparison. His olivedrab and gray leathers a bit dirty and weathered, and his red hair pulled lazily back into a tangled ponytail, exposing his slightly pointed ears.

"I fully understand your position. But if I am hearing correctly, we have no say over when the Yuan-ti attack. I'm sure most of us, myself included, would much rather have the Order by our side instead of the lizards, and would choose not to side with them."

He rubs his stubbly face once more, the scratching quite audible

"However, I don't believe anyone -has- an alliance, or anything to renounce with the Yuan-ti. They have merely stated when they plan to attack. If nothing else, I would choose to attack on the same day as them if only to ensure that the mass of their force is focused on the dracolich. I know nothing of the Yuan-ti. They very well -could- attack our gates while we're away at battle. But wouldn't that give even more reason to leave our gates on the day when the majority of them will be too busy to attack?"

He offers a smile over to Dondiah as she approaches and listens carefully as she says her piece… he seems much more attentive than usual for some reason.

"I won't lie. I think the worst is going to happen. I don't want it to, but every fiber of well-being in my mind, and my body is telling me to say to hell with it, pick up camp, and leave Norwick and the Rawlinswood behind."

He glances from person to person, silently before his eyes end on Dondiah who is consoling Cara near him. They linger there for a moment before he seems to sigh a bit looking back to the group.

"But I won't. My heart won't let me. I won't run away while people I care about are fighting it. But make no mistake, I'm not fighting for Norwick, not for Narfell. I'm fighting for their survival, and then my own."

He shrugs, looks to Mariston again.

"I mean no offense. As I said, I think it's suicide without the Order by our side. You're trained and blessed in the arts of healing, battling undead, and destroying evil. The problem being that we have no control over the Yuan-ti, and can therefore not just -tell- them not to attack. They are acting on their own accord, it seems."
