While stoping by the town of Waterdeep, Kaylor's parents lost him while doing some shopping in the markets. Not a difficult thing to do considering the size of a halfling amongst the bustle of the market.
Instead he was raised by a cranky old half-orc named Bluebarg, who happened to witness him stealing some food one evening and decided to put the little halfings skills to use.
Life was pretty simple for Kaylor, as he'd do what Bluebarg would ask, sneaking into caravens at night and grabbing the valueables, or opening the locks to the merchants houses while they slept.
This went on for most of his early years up until about his twentieth, when Bluebarg heard there was a large bounty on who ever could locate and capture the night thief.
Out one evening getting some food an drink at a local tavern Bluebarg shows up with an unsual smile on his face and pays for Kaylor's food and drink, quickly trying to get him back to their little shack on the outskirts of town.
No sooner did they get inside Kaylor feels a sharp pain in the back of his head, and awoke some hours later tied to a chair with a throbbing headache.
In Blubargs haste to tie him up he forgot to remove Kaylor's dagger from his boot, after several minutes of what seemed an impossible struggle he manages to get one arm free and grabs the dagger cutting off the rope.
Grabbing his few belongings he hurried out of the shack and set out on his own, hoping that the half-orc wouldn't be able to follow.
