Sciolist's herd of vault-clogging fools

  • Edited - updated desc

Keira's a young elf of maybe 120-130, with pale bluish skin and white hair hacked off at shoulder-level and braided tightly to keep it out of her face. Her eyes are pale and grey, reminiscent (to a poet) of drifting snows in a high mountain pass or to most as the blank, appraising gaze of a wolf. She smiles more often than once she did and seems less concerned with the approval of onlookers. Her grin holds more of toothy savagery than actual joy, even though she seems to take more pride in martial and bloody resolutions to conflict.

She's slim and wiry, not powerfully built at all, and moves with flowing grace, even for an elf (dex 22). When she wants to, her feet drift near silently over the ground. When she wears light clothing, as opposed to her heavier robes, many scars are visible up her arms and legs, twisting across her chest. Most of these scars are deliberate and almost decorative if you like that sort of body art. On closer inspection, the scars curve over and around in deliberate knotwork patterns. Perhaps they're vines or thorned plant stems, perhaps they represent the tangled tails of a barbed whip. It's hard to tell. Some newer scars form a complex and knotted design of vines curving down her back knotting and binding dark wings before curving around her stomach and down her left thigh.

Of late she's been more open and willing to engage in conversation. She's still painfully blunt at times and displays a sometimes disconcerting and pessimistic view of many situations. Her voice is soft and has a noticeable northern Damaran accent (Galena mountains, Helmsdale). If agitated, or unsure of herself she stutters slightly over voiced consonants but this too has faded with time and personal confidence. If anything her manner is now more cold and aloof but this contrasts with a streak of vicious commitment to protect her Sisters, her allies and very few others.

  • Caling

Caling is slightly taller and skinnier than an average female moon elf. Her pale skin and eyes contrast starkly with chin-length jet-black hair. Overall, the effect is exotic and attractive, rather than sinister because she smiles a lot and is frequently moved to laugh by the antics of the mayflies and other races nearby. She has several earrings and other facial piercings, as well as a few calligraphic tattoos.

Her common is well-practiced and usually shifts to fit in with local phrases and accents. When speaking elven, she speaks more precisely and hs noticeably well-educated grammar and a startlingly wide vocabulary. She is usually polite, especially when addressing dwarves or gnomes.

She's usually seen in impractically low-cut leather armour, claiming that it keeps her shoulders free for archery. The armor itself is very well-crafted and maintained, as is the bowstave hung from her back. If required to dress up, she favours more mannish swashbuckling attire to big dresses.

Skilled and shady observers will suspect she has some small knives about her person. If required to pay for expensive things, the gold comes from several pouches in different places.

More recently, she's been seen in distinctive copper and deep red-purple armor, wearing a symbol of Sune. More formal introductions reveal her as a paladin, perhaps she's had some sort of redemptive experience, given how lackadaisical she was previously.

  • Hammer - as he's commonly known - is a large, stocky human with tanned, weathered skin and dark eyes. His coarse, black hair is usually kept under a small skullcap as befits a cleric of Tempus, though he has recently acquired a nice suit of plate including a helmet.

He speaks Damaran and common, with a local Nars accent and doesn't use many long words. His plate is silver and blood-spattered though oddly resistant to rust, and he wields a large golden bastard sword. His only jewellery of note is the symbol of Tempus. Often he's seen around Norwick's South Fire, cooking and eating the local wildlife voraciously.
