Adlo Alosen

In late fall, about four years after The Great War, a large farming town lays dark in the shadows of a mountain. A man, middle aged white hair, white beard, walks calmly around the Temple of Helm. He is a monk to that temple, serving his life in the grace of his lord. One night…a specific night. His life was changed forever. It was cold, unusually dark for a night with a full moon. The beams of light that would normally light up the streets were no where to be found. Aldo, lay asleep in the monestary. He was awaken by a deafening bang, followed by screams of terror and pain. He shot out of bed, quickly laced his temple made chainmail armor, and ran out to address the comotion. When he reached the street, he was greeted by a single man, hooded, tall, slender. The man was standing in front or a burning house. Also was shocked, he reached for his sword, and as he pulled it out of the temple made sheathe, the mysterious pyro had whispered a few "hissy" like words, along with some dramatic hand gestures. As Aldo was ready to charge after the Maniac, he was stopped in shock as four "creatures' rose from the graveyard right next to the temple. Aldo knew as a servent of Helm he was to vanquish the undead on sight. He charged into the Helm Graveyard diving over the short animal fence to meet his post mortum opponents. "Back to your Graves" he shouted, as he lunged towards the nearest "person". He struck down the first walking corpse, and with a single swipe of his blade he slashed the second at the collar bone, completely removing it's head, and most of the top half of it. The other two were coming in close on Aldo, one to his right, the other to his left. He knelt, offered an audible prayer to Helm. "Oh Lord of the Righteous, Grant the power to slay these abominations, and forever have me as your servant!" He opened his eyes to see an pale corpse like fist hit him straight in the right eye. He fell back, shocked, his eyes watering,he reached for his sword but to no success. The tall hooded man, stepped on his out-stretched arm. Aldo cringed in pain. The other two undead were at his feet, awaiting the kill comand from their dark master. The man, slowly got to one knee, eyes fixed on the Holy Monk laying defenseless on the damp graveyard grass. The man leaned toward Aldo, who was checking to see if his skinning knife was in his belf loop, which he sometimes forgot to remove before bed. It was there. He grabbed the skinning knife, gripping it hard. the man was leaning closer to Aldo's face, Not a second before Aldo was ready to strike at the mans face, The man cleared his throat gently, and began to speak to Aldo.
" You will not defeat me. You will not save the people of this town. You will not survive this night. You will all burn where you lay." the man spoke in a clear, but low voice.
Aldo peered into the mans robe, finally catching a glimpse of the man by light of the still burning building across the street. He was no man...
Aldo, still gripping the small dagger whipped his arm around and stabbed the Dark Monster in his eye, if the knife were bigger, it would've kiilled him...but it most certainly did not end this Demons terror. Aldo Jumped to his feet, unarmed as the knife was still in the Hooded Figures Eyesocket. He lunged at the left Zombified Corpse tackling it to the ground, he found his trusty tample made blade and thrusted it into the Undeads very much living heart. He then slashed off the leg of the remaining dead man. He quickly serched for the now hooded cyclops...he spotted him in the street, facing the temple of helm...The man spoke loudy as his wands began to wave in a serpant like manner. His fingertips sparked as flames began to dance in the motion of his hands. He lead out a horrifying cry as he directed his attempts to the temple. Aldo was too slow to react, we his suddenly blinded by a great flash, and knocked uncontious. The man, no longer concerned with the novice paladin, turned his firey intentions to the rest of the town. One by one, letting out a deathly cry as he demolished every house, along with the owners of them...
Aldo awoke to the sounds of wood creaking...he was greeted by two sailors who went on to tell him of the tragedy that happened in Aldo's home town. Aldo, ever since, has not been able to forgive himself fo the death and destruction caused to all those innocent people. If only he were stronger, and Helm...Where was helm to aid in this slaughter. Aldo, has asked himself that very question everyday.
