Has anyone ever commisioned a picture or portrait, is there an easy and cost effective way? I dont want to spend thousands of dollars to do so but is there an easy way to have a portrait or picture painted?

A portrait probably wouldn't cost an exhobitant amount anyway, unless the artist you're getting to do it is famous (or likes to think they are), and fortunately for us (and less fortunately for artists), fame does not equal talent. So you should be able to get one done at a reasonable price.

Go easy on the arty friend though. Spending hours crating a work of art for you for nothing is a bigger ask than you may think. At the very least respect what they make for you. Just because you aren't paying for it doesn't mean it isnt worth something.
Your local art shop will probably have some contacts you an follow up on. Your community probably has an art group or two as well.

got her for her uni coruse (art) to do a picture of me an a few friends climbin, an with a copy we used it as part of out course :twisted: used it in a presentation, she even got a round of applause for doing it
