Aervanna

Character name: Aervanna
Player Log-in: beng4evaAervanna originally came from the Great Dale, the son of a Circle Elder. At an early age, he showed promise with the old ways. Animals seemed to react positively to him, and he could communicate with them in a way. And yet, he was slightly unnerving to those who sought to teach him.
He spoke of people who others could not see, of things long gone and of the form of animals that have passed on. Some thought he was mad, or perhaps possessed. Finally one day, they were given a word to explain him.
Throvain. He who speaks with the spirits.
For hundreds of years he remained within the Circle, learning what he could of woods lore, of the paths of the world, of the hidden ways and the leylines. He swam as a fish, flew as a hawk, ran as a deer. And as his bond grew ever stronger, the spirits revealed themselves to him more and more.
Aervanna never ascended beyond counsellor of the Circle, for he had no desire to. Their ways were at once both the same, and different to his. The others were glad of this, for he both inspired them, and caused them fear. The power they have was granted by the gods, and yet his was not, something they had not seen before.
He took Silvanus as his god out of reverence for his parents, and for the one who had spoken to the Circle, to help them puzzle out his place. It was He who had named Aervanna as Throvain, He who had seen fit to intercede on Aervanna's behalf with the spirits. A spirit guide was granted to him, a spirit of the air, the hunter.
Every morning Aervanna would awake from his trance, and go out to meet his spirit guide, to commune with him and learn the blessings of the day. His life was largely untroubled other than the odd interloper into the woods, who was always quickly despatched, one way or another.
But something changed 16 years ago. There was a surge in the leylines that was beyond anything he had seen before. Others did not feel it the same way he did, but he knew that something had drastically altered a part of Toril. His blessings became more random and chaotic, he even lost the ability to shift for a time.
Years passed, and the leylines settled down. The spirits he sought out told him of a calamity far away, of a great rending of the earth, and loss of life. Unnatural beings had been called forth and left to roam freely. He sought some way to travel to the location of the destruction, to try and restore what was lost.
Finally, word reached his Circle of a looming evil. A great beast of cold and death had laid his eyes upon the realm of Narfell, and the Circle there was in need. Sensing that perhaps his chance had come, Aervanna volunteered to go to their aid, even though it would disrupt his bond to the land until he could refocus and tap into the leylines.
He travelled on foot until he arrived in Norwick, and waited there to meet with a member of the Circle.
He knew he wouldn't have to wait long…
