Rumors about Gnolls

In the fires along the Nars Pass, occasionally a word is mentioned of a recent march of the gnolls. Inquisitive people quickly discover that a large force of gnolls made their way to the ruins of Jiyyd where they successfully opened or directed a portal to the abyss - likely calling upon their demonic goddess Yeenoghu. It is said that a couple of brave heroes managed to defeat the gnolls, but not without first having one claiming the mind of a few powerful fighters - and rattling everyone to the bone. A hezrou is also mentioned, along with gnolls that came out of the portal.

Many months after any news of note has been reported about the dog-faced gnolls, four weary and bloodied travellers head north from the woods, bearing tales of vicious Quaggoths lurking on the surface, brewing trouble for the people of Narfell by rousing the gnolls.
