Character Name: Brendon Taner
NWN Account: MattamueDescription: This man has tangled chestnut hair, blue eyes and a high forehead. Athletically built - his body is obviously well conditioned for martial endeavors.
Insight: In two words, conspiracy hero. He sees himself as liberating people from ignorance. He's outgoing and in your face about his ideas and what they might mean. Proof is inconsequential, but first hand reports, while they can be lies, are always suspect as having some grain of truth. He's a believer of nothing new under the sun in that respect. That there's nothing out there there hasn't been done - and there's always someone out there doing it right now. Probably plotting to kill everyone and plunge the universe into darkness. This deep responsibility for everyone might not come to the surface during a first meeting, but it's there driving decisions.
He is used to taking a leadership role in many things. Often times striking out on his own to investigate the newest twist in some plot. A sort of motto he might believe in would be somebody's got to do it - which implies a begrudging acceptance of the task. He feels this way because he hasn't made any real connection with his parents or any mentors. No one took the time to understand him so he always strives to be right and prove it so there is no misunderstanding.
He acts as his conscience directs him w/ little regard for what others expect. He believes in goodness and right, but has little use for laws and regulations.
Background: Taner comes from Peltarch. His father was a tradesman and a merchant in the city. Taner began working for his father as a young guard on the boats, not in any dangerous or primarily seafaring role, but one that got him interested in conflict and the intrigue of a battle. He believes that there's more than just a group of pirates or thieves and a merchant at battle - instead it is another fight in some grand war against good and evil he gets to play a small part in that. A lot of his mistrust and suspicion about authority comes from the suspected abuse of power by the houses.
His story on Narfell begins with him setting out to make a name for himself. He's ready to do his own part in this war of good and evil and Narfell is where he begins for now.
