PS Bookshelves

  • Over the last several updates, Persistent Storage bookshelves have been added to the guild halls of most guilds/orgs. A few guilds orgs are not knowledge-oriented and had no bookshelves to begin with. These got no bookshelves.

Generally, these additions involved making an existing bookshelf on the map usable and PS. In a few cases, where all existing bookshelves were already usable and containing books, this involved adding new bookshelves.

One guild actually got a public PS chest, since they already had a PS bookshelf but no other public PS.

The reason for these bookshelf additions is so that guilds have a place to store various books, scrolls, letters and other such items they may acquire, and have a central repository for such plot-related items.

They are not to be used as additional public PS for the storage of logs, ore, spare sets of armor, etc. DMs are encouraged to remove and trash any such items they find in PS bookshelves until I get scripting in to do it automatically.

The reason for all these additions is that we are about to put a number of books, scrolls, etc., IG. Some will go into libraries, others into places PCs adventure into. Some will be plot specific and placed by DMs. The various guild bookshelves will be a place the guild can store these items so that all members of the guild can access them, both for plot and historical purposes. PCs may also submit books to be put IG into their guild libraries.
