Time in NwN?
-
Looks right to me for a level 12 caster.

@b2b0069430=Orlak:
1 round = 6 seconds
1 turn = 10 rounds (60 seconds)So then:
1 Hour = 4 minutes. So should be 4 turns
To follow up, since others are patiently trying to teach me about Narfell time where spells are concerned…
Assuming the above is correct - and I saw nothing anybody posted to contradict it - then the following should also be true for spell durations for a caster of 12 levels:
Divine Favor = 1 turn = 60 seconds
Divine Favor EXTENDED = 2 minutes1 hour / level = 48 minutes RL time
1 hour / level - EXTENDED = 96 minutes RL time1 round / caster level = 72 seconds = 1 minute and 12 seconds RL time
1 round / caster level - EXTENDED = 2 minutes and 24 seconds RL time
(This applies to Divine Power, Call Lightning and Summons V+ on Narfell)1 turn / 2 caster levels = 360 seconds = 6 minutes RL time
1 turn / 2 caster levels - EXTENDED = 12 minutes of RL time
(This applies to Summons III and IV on Narfell)1 turn / caster level = 720 seconds = 12 minutes RL time
1 turn / caster level - EXTENDED = 24 minutes RL time
(This applies to Polymorph Self, Bless and Silence on Narfell)1 turn / caster level + 1 turn / 4 caster levels = 15 minutes RL time
1 turn / caster level + 1 turn / 4 caster levels - EXTENDED = 30 min RL
(This applies to Magic Vestment on Narfell)2 turns / caster level = 1440 seconds = 24 minutes RL time
2 turns / caster level - EXTENDED = 48 minutes RL time
(This applies to Magic Weapon and Greater Magic Weapon on Narfell)Do I have this right?

I thought I read this information long ago in the NWN manual. Might try looking there.

@b89222ec19=Nimbrethil:
I'm fairly sure 1 hour == 2 turns - ie: two minutes. that goes for the spells at least
Only in original NWN. Narfell extended the hour to 4 minutes (4 turns)
(edit for typo)

@ba3add0076=Orlak:
So then:
1 Hour = 4 minutes. So should be 4 turns… (if sethan is right about the hour being 4 minutes)
Oh Sethan is always right.

Ok, Il still test it with my character (striking only once). if the time goes according to 3rd edition rules then its indeed:
1 round = 6 seconds
1 turn = 10 rounds (60 seconds)So then:
1 Hour = 4 minutes. So should be 4 turns… (if sethan is right about the hour being 4 minutes)

I'm pretty sure you will find that a lvl 1 fighter will only strike once every 6 seconds. Any other attacks made in addition to that could be attacks of opportunity, or could be him playing his parrying animation.
-
I know that in 3e 1 round = 6 seconds but I do not think its so in nwn since a normal 1st level fighter hits more than 1 time in 6 seconds (atleast i think they do).
I would quess that 1 round is something like 3 seconds but I made this post in hopes that someone would actually have hard info on the matter.
I quess I have to make a test in game with a timer
-
Honestly not sure - the last books I bought were 1e

Well rounds and turns are more in line with RL time.
round = 6 seconds
turn = 10 rounds, or 1 minute
-
Thanks for the info but im also interested in Turns and Rounds.
Is 10 turns the same as 1 hour in narfell? That would make 1 Turn last 24 seconds?
Also is 10 rounds a turn? would mean that 1 round is 2,4 seconds?

Narf time to real time is 15:1
So 1 narf hour = 4 RL minutes.
15 Narf hours = 1 RL hour.
15 Narf days = 1 RL day.
1 Narf month = 2 RL days
1 Narf year = 24 RL days
15 Narf years = 1 RL year.For convenience sake, long term suff is often done at 12:1, to make 1 Narf month = 1 RL year.
