Arnell Windblown

Character: Arnell Windblown
Login: MkableThat Stupid dream! Arnell tossed the core of the fruit viciously into the bushes. He had been picked out with a few of the other Elven children; as one who could do well in the Elven Ranger Societies. He had done well, exceeded expectations in fact. He learned Stalking and Hiding as if he had always known how; picking up their Sign language just as naturally. His teachers taught him about their tribes prevalent enemy in the area, the Orcs. He had learned how to stalk them, how to fight them. It had seemed to be common knowledge that he would rise high in the Tribe…but now, it wasn't his tribe anymore.
He was stalking through the woods, not sure if he was hunting or being hunted. Behind him in the distance he heard a mighty forlorn howl. It sent chills down his spine, primal fear welled up…and something else, recognition. He barely had time to register this before an impossibly huge shape leapt on him from the dark. It pinned his hands to the ground bringing its face close to his, not that he would have fought it if he could. It was too strong a presence, too dangerously beautiful. The Dire Wolf stared into his eyes. In its gaze he saw ageless wisdom, Older and more Primal than any Elf could hope to be. To his right an Owl whirred out of the trees screeching, flying to the East, in an instant the Dire wolf was gone. The howl repeating, fading into the east as well.
Arnell awoke sweating, a strange new/old urging coursing through his veins. A ghostly howl echoing through the woods around him. Without waiting for dawn he grabbed his bow and his few pouches and headed back to his tribes camp. He noticed that the woods were silent, all the normal night sounds gone. As he neared the edges of the camp he stopped. Figures flowed out of the shadows. Venerable elves unfamiliar to him, and one Elder of the tribe. In the almost complete dark he could still make out the flick of their hands as they signed to him.
You have been summoned by the spirits. You will search the woods and lands to the East until the Spirits message has been shown to you.
Looking wide-eyed to the Elder, Arnell saw him nod slightly. Knowing he could no longer call this place home, Arnell shouldered his bow and turned to the East.
