    Background
As a young boy Berren was raised in the more prosperous side of the commoners life. His father an accomplished horse master in the city of Hoarsgate took advantage of his talent with horse training and the bustle of trade, as well as times when the city required additional aid in outfitting riders. Following in his father's footsteps he helped along side and took a fancy to the paladins code of honor and the followers of IImater that would local the city, but what intrigued him the most was the mythical steeds the paladins would bring forth. All with a different personality and masterful to any horse his father could breed, coupled with his talent and love of steeds Berren's caring nature led him to the doors of IImater and the practice of a paladin.

During his travels Berren would not only look upon those whom required help or justice, but he would also look upon those of power, how they used it, and how it affected those involved. At a dark time in Berren's travels he came upon a village, pestilence and starvation wracked the peasants and a small boy beside Berren stole an apple from a stand. Before he could flee Berren grabbed him by his ragged collar with his right hand and placed his left hand in his coin pouch, pulling forth a single coin. The boy struggled, clawing and biting Berren's right arm desperatly holding the apple from Berren's reach till he witness the coin in Berren's left hand. He told the boy that if you wish to help yourself you should look first to help others, and handed him the coin to bring to the man he stole the apple from. In the meantime the man had already found another paladin and sought justice on the beggar child whom stole his food even when repaid. The law of the kingdom required thirteen lashes and Berren took them all as the boy watched. Since then Berren has always looked upon those with power with more scrutiny then anyother and the laws of men and their cities.

Recently Berren traveled to the port city of Peltarch and fell upon poor luck, attacked by raiders and theives he was able to fell one of his assailants but struck unconcious in the brawl. Battered and poor he scavanged what remained from the encounter and reached the city to fall asleep in the Dancing mermaid common room.
