Valor, Faith, and the Golden Toilet

(This is the Journal of a Dwarf Paladin)
_My Name is Furyar Goldhammer,
I am a dwarf of One hundred and two seasons
I am a Hammer of Moradin and defender of those who cannot defend themselves.
I write in this journal out of nessesity more than anything else - Had i a choice in the matter I would leave my geneology to a bard or some such nonsense. However cicumstances dictate that I record what I Can of my family and lineage for I am the last living male of the Goldhammer clan.
I am on the road at the moment travelling via wagon with some git who wont stop talking about a lass of some kind. Thankfully if I ignore him long enough in a day he will eventually start talking to the floor instead.
I am returning to Narfell of all places having left the funeral for my younger brother - Angar Goldhammer. He lived a good life alibet a strange one for a dwarf. He was a scout you see and one of the best - had a good sense of humor too.
I remember when both of us were young bucks in the local malitia and during a break in the training he said "I bet when Moradin takes a break he has a fine golden toilet to sit on." but the drill sargent heard him and put him on latrine digging duty saying 'Moradin doesnt take breaks!', I had to help too because I laughed.
I digress though…Before any other entries I want to enter my family tree so the situation is understood. My father was the only son of his fater, streching the Goldhammer line thin. My father - Balistar Goldhammer - had two sons, Angar Goldhammer, and myself, Furyar Goldhammer.
My father died of age while we were still young bucks, and Anger entered the service as a scout. I entered the military as a soldier, was selected for valor and became a Hammer of Moradin.By some design unknown to me Moradin has seen it fit to entrust me as the last vessel of the Goldhammer name. I only hope and pray that I can live up to the expectations of the test that has been put before me.
Thus I return to Narfell to make known the Goldhammer name once more - not by fame or glory but by the good deeds shall my name be known. I also hope that time has found my friends and allies well for I have not heard any news of the going ons of Narfell for quite some time nor do I know what I shall do once I arrive. Perhaps I shall resume my vollentary guard duties of the Sisters home near Jiyyd...we shall see I suppose, I must close this entry now as the git I am travelling with is getting In a fight with a tree...

_Today I ment to go to Jiyyd and ended up in Norwick somehow. Crazy how the Nars has changed in fifty years. Decided to rest me feet in norwick for a while and ended up getting in an argument with some dunderhead human when i tried to leave. The fool says Jiyyd is overrun by demons and its not safe to go there at night.
Well OBVIOUSLY the man has never seen a Hammer of Moradin in action.
or a demon.
or been away from his mommy for too long.
At any rate after the argument i sat and wrote all of this to vent my frustrations as its not very gentlemanly of me to beat his arse into the ground. Now I'll head to jiyyd anyway i suppose…
Never really liked norwick...
....
BY THE GOLDEN TOILET ITS A HOLE IN THE GROUND!
A GIANT FARKN HOLE IN THE GROUND!
What happened to all that lived here?! Did they all die? what in hells Bells happened!!!
...
Everyone I talk to either doesnt want to talk about it or just ignores me, it seems that speaking of what befell my old home is something of a taboo...so screw them all I'm going to keep asking Until I get some answers.
I shall update my journal then.

Entry Number 2
_Finally arrived at the boat that will take me to Peltarch. I am honestly suprised that the city still stands with all its been through - I think I'll grab an ale for the road once I get there though its a long walk to Jiyyd.
I suppose I should should try and get some sleep on the way there but I dont think i could. I hate boats. Hate hate hate them. Were it up to me I would pound a hole in the bottom with my warhammer and watch as the waves took it down laughing all the while.
Or light a powder keg in the bottom…one of the two.
Either way I shall be glad indeed when we reach solid ground once more-
...
The captain tried to take my journal away saying he needed a new one and mine looked good to him. I hate bullies - though I am now the owner of a new rapier and a peg leg - he can have them back if he wants to ask nicely but I doubt he will. Some of the other passengers thanked me for some reason.
...
I got bored and started playing around with the peg leg - figured out there was a secret compartment in it with a few coins in there. Took the coins to donate to the church - The dropped a small hand bell and some peieces of metal in there and sealed it shut with tar. Every time the bottom of the peg hits the ground now it makes a very satisfying 'ding' sound. Once he gets his peg leg back his crew will call him jingle bells if i have anything to say about it.
Did i mention I hate riding on boats?
...
Found a stoaway while exploring the hold - the poor kid was dressed in rags and looked starving. I helped him out of the box and got him some proper clothes, also gave him the coin I found in the captains leg - figure he needs it more than I do.
...
FINALLY arrived in peltach but hells this city looks different. I hear things from commoners about a flood and demons and the nars and bandits and orcs and such but other than the mud its pretty much the same.
Gave the captain his leg back shortly before we arrived in peltarch but launched his rapier off the catapult and into the sea. Figure that will teach him to not be so quick to draw now that he has to buy a new one. On my way off I saw him on the upper deck hobbling about raving that someone was ringing bells every time he stepped and demanding they stop - that made me grin as I hurried away.
Found a run down little Inn to stay the night, I shall make for Jiyyd in the morning and am hopefull to see a few fammiliar faces - so far there has been none.
